Switched over to Verizon from another carrier a few years ago. A part of our switch was due to two promotions. A BOGO on iPhones and a $250 Verizon card per user that was switching carriers (so cards). We were told these would be emailed to us. After a week we didn’t receive and were told it takes two weeks. After two weeks we inquired and were told it takes 6-8 weeks because you have to pay at least a bill first. After several months we honestly just forgot.
Fast forward to today, and we’ve spent over six hours with customer service with no help. The worst part is that Verizon has confirmed and verified they tried to email the cards on a specific date (a few weeks after activation). We still do t see that email or any activation emails for that matter. They also confirmed the cards have never been activated. However, they refuse to reissue them because they can’t find the specific ad from a small town in Indiana from that time period.
Ridiculous. To confirm that they were sent to us, to confirm that they haven’t been used/activated, and then to say sorry we never got them to you but we can’t find that ad so nothing g we can do is entirely unethical.
We will be looking for a carrier that provides actual customer service as well as stands by their advertised and confirmed benefits.
