Let me clarify.
Xbox will work, but you will not be able to host any games since you do not have a public IP Address. NAT forces your IP Address to look the same as everyone on the VZW network, there is no way for your friends to initiate a proper connection to you but you can reach out and play with them just fine. While home routers provide NAT (192.168.x.x) networks, a more traditional service provider will still assign the modem a public IP Address. When you have a public IP then you can configure your router to forward specific traffic onto one device or another making them publicly available on the web. A public IP also means that the port forwarding functionality on your router will be enabled too.
Hopefully you can see that getting a public IP is the main problem here. Until then the features on the devices themselves will be at the mercy of the main VZW firewall policies back at home base. You need to remove yourself from the VZW network entirely if you want to host Xbox and that is where the VPN comes in. VPN will tunnel all of your traffic through an already open port in the VZW firewall and virtually place you on a different providers network (one you hope has public IP and ports available).
You could also pony up $500 for a static and public IP address from VZW, but most don't value that kind of an investment.
If your employees are doing work with the 890L in the field then set them up with a corporate VPN and tunnel them back to your office network where everything is allowed. This is how we operate with our JetPacks and it works just fine.

Hey there sgtbeckham,
The 890L hotspot device is a great device to keep you connected to the internet while on the go. I understand that you use it for XBox but I would ask you to be careful and to monitor your usage because live play on XBox does use large amounts of data.
I am not all too familiar with connecting the device to XBox, but I would recommend visiting http://bit.ly/s8Jf81 for support.
Thanks,

You cant. NAT is implemented on the entire VZW 4G LTE/SIM card network. It is not configurable from your device and VZW will not make an exception. If you do not have a network connected device that can VPN to a different network then you are out of luck. XBox is not the only device that gets treated this way, we also have this limitation with webcams, VOIP phones and any kind of public IP Address dependant service.
If you want to experiment with work arounds then you would have to look into some kind of a router with a VPN functionality. In a nutshell you would have to cascade the two routers togeather and then connect the XBox to the VPN router. Problem is that the 890L is a wireless only so the VPN router would need to have a wireless repeater or bridge function that would allow it to connect to the Jetpack and treat it as the modem. I dont have any suggestions for you regarding that kind of equipment. However if you find something feel free to shoot us a link with the specs so that we can review before you purchase anything.
Diagram of theoretical work around:
VZW Network ))))) Jetpack ))))) VPN Router ))))) XBox

NAT is implemented, but is that really why the XBOX isn't going to work? Most every ISP home router/modem uses NAT for a person's home network, yet the XBOX or a VOIP phone will work.
I was actually looking for a way to get a couple of different brands of softphones working on 890L JetPacks. Our employees can't demo our products using the 890L because the traffic appears to be blocked.
