Jetpack 7730L Remote Access

My Jetpack is providing internet service for my home.  I have a desktop computer in my home which is part of the Jetpack network.  The desktop is set up to accept ssh connections.

I would like to access my desktop remotely through ssh while away from home.  I have set up port forwarding on the Jetpack, but it does not work.

1. I've read that port forwarding will not work - is this the case?
2. Do any of the Jetpacks have functioning port forwarding?
3. If port forwarding does not work, short of a static ip address, how can I accomplish remote access?
