Power button isn't responsive, and it's been stuck on this screen for a good few hours. Soft resetting only restarts it and has the same "Goodbye" screen after booting up. Help?

Thank you for replying, however I have already soft reset the device many times (that is what you do with the paperclip, right?) and it doesn't do anything. I have figured out a temporary workaround until I can get a new device later this week. For some reason, the battery seems out of place, for lack of a better term, so while it is booting up I have to push the back of the device to prevent it from displaying the shutdown screen. After it's booted up, I can release it and everything works.
TL;DR problem solved in a weird way.

Now my device is automatically restarting, however it still displays "Goodbye" before doing so. Is there a way to run down the battery at all?

Open the Sim slot cover and press in on the reset button for 10 seconds with a
paperclip or similar object while the device is on.
