I have a network extender 2. It's been working fine and now today it won't obtain an IP address. I see in the router logs that is assigning an address, but the extender shows 0.0.0.0 as the IP address. I've tried rebooting and a factory reset, same results.

We know how important it is to have your extender working at all times, we'll be glad to help out. Are you able to connect to your Wi-Fi network? Have you had any issues with your home router recently?

I have the exact same problem today. My Network Extender is getting an address from the DHCP server, but shows 0.0.0.0 on the screen. Also does not connection.
Tried a factory reset but still got the same thing.

We know that you depend on your connection, we want to be sure your extender is working for you. Are you able to connect to your Wi-Fi network? Is your home router working well for you otherwise?

any real answer on this, other than a reply that asks the same basic question again? yes my router is working and i can connect to my wifi - not sure how that is relevant given that the extender connects to the router via a network cable.

Did your Network Extender ever work? Is your router set for IPv4 or IPv6?

Have you attempted to restart the router completely since setting up the extender?

Same EXACT issue, tried the factory reset too. I understand networking, I do this for a living, I know my network is functioning correctly.

ConradZ, we appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far. Tell us which Network Extender are you using (1X, 3G, 4G)?

@vzw_customer_support , @trinettew_vzw Doesn't 'network extender 2' give you a clue? Only the 4G extenders have that name. I'm not sure even what a 1X network extender is.

Was there some kind of update pushed to these devices because I, as of today, have this issue. The device has been working fine for the past year and nothing has changed on my network. Same symptom the other users are experiencing.
Is there a reason this is taken more than a week to respond to?

There is a nationwide outage affecting 4G Network Extenders today. Are you sure this isn't what your issue is today?

That could possibly be it. I wasn't aware of the outage.
Thanks for the info and I will keep an eye on it and the thread.

A poster in the other thread says their extender is back in service (within the last 15 mins). Not sure if it is a false alarm.

Same here! Noticed last night and have not been able to fix. Ethernet AND Wifi are fine and this device has been on the same network since purchase in late 2018. Also shows up WITH an IP address on my router app. 0.0.0.0 on the device and freezes up on step 11a of the boot process

It is a Verizon Extender Server issue, as their Tech Support has confirmed that the first report of the Server being down was about 600AM EDT on Wednesday July 22nd. When I returned home in the past hour (600PM EDT) the issue was resolved and my Extender showed it was in service. The reason your Extender showed no IP address was because the Verizon Extender Server was down. I had the same issue, when I check now my Extender does show an IP address and it works fine.
