I have been using Message+ on Verizon's website to access my texts for several years now. I was greeted on my PC today with the following message on the Verizon Messages website:
"The ability to send and receive text messages in Verizon's website will be discontinued on 12/11/23. ..."
"...We recommend using Messages by Google which will allow you to continue to message in a web browser. "
Once again Verizon fails to look after their customers:
a) Verizon is the only major carrier that doesn't allow us to forward all texts automatically to our emails (which would allow us to access texts via emails on a PC). I am not interested in manually forwarding individual messages.
b) "Messages by Google" only works if you have an Android. There is not an iOS version of the app.
c) If you are running Windows 11 you can use the Phone Link app with your iPhone (cant be done under Windows 10). It is less than ideal (it has a reputation for being temperamental on top of not including images or texts sent from your own phone) and it has taken some hunting and tweaking to be able to use that solution.
BUT ... come on Verizon! Can't you look after your customers better than this?

d) An alternative to Phone Link is the AnyTrans app from iMobie. I'm using the free version in two modes...
1) to backup my iPhone to the desktop and then view the text of the backed up messages to copy and paste what I want.
2) screen mirroring allows me to view my phone messages from my desktop. This only provides an image of the text so I then use the Text Extractor tool from PowerTools to scrape the text of the messages from my phone into my preferred text application on the desktop.
All of which is a lot of work to fix a problem that Verizon is creating for its customers. Ouch!

I've never done it but I believe Windows 10 and 11 can run Android apps. Look for Google Playstore in the Microsoft store. Install it and use the Playstore to find the Messages+ app for Android. Might work for you.??
