It is very silly that Verizon pushes an update on you tirelessly for weeks and when you agree to allow the update your Tablet quits playing music without an annoying skip. Verizon, why does music now skip on my Ellipsis 7 since the latest OS Update to 4.4.2? I have already done a hard reset and reloaded all apps and no luck, still skipping on both local mp3s and streamed music from Pandora. Seems that Verizon has made some memory handling error with the latest update, 4.4.2, and now my tablet is pretty much useless for what I use(d) it for....Verizon, where do I go to get the old OS back? If not that, how do I get compensated for this skipping tablet?

Are you listening to the music via bluetooth or a headset or straight from the tablet?
What is the signal like as the music is playing? I would like to know if it still skips as it is in Safe Mode http://vz.to/1OV1Zzd.

Same issue here. Music skips/stutters while streaming on apps like Pandora or Google Music even with strong 4G signal or strong WiFi signal. Occasionally same issue from locally saved music files. Does kitkat change the way music is processed?

So where is the fox for this, Verizon. You know about the issue. Fix the devices, or replace them, or let us cancel without an early termination fee.

I'm having the same problem and it's really annoying..Verizon needs to do something asap about this. I'm thinking we need to not be charged monthly for our tablets until the issue is resolved

Same problem here. This tablet worked well as my music player for Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google music. Now it is worthless.

sorry to hear you are having this problem and glad I am not the only one experiencing this issue. i have done everything mentioned in this string. when i sent my tablet in, it was sent back saying they could not recreate the issue in their shop. really?? i had taken it into my local store 3 times before sending it back and each time it skipped in the store, so i know it is not any connection i have at home. it's ridiculous. i do hope verizon tech reads these strings. people are not happy. get it fixed!!

Why not just get a reputable tablet from a known manufacturer?

Don't leave. We want your service to be problem free! Lets get this fixed. What issue is your tablet experiencing? What is the current software verison on the tablet? (go to settings>about phone>software/build version). When did the issue start?
Thanks,

Memory management could be at play here causing a skip when RAM is low: Important Note: Memory Management

I use my tablet as a car music player and GPS, I tried not to take the update, but the "you need to update your tablet" was staying open all the time and getting in the way. I finally and reluctantly updated.
I have the same problem with google Music skipping. I am connected via the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
I have found that:
The CPU is not capping out (average on all cores, it could be a single core capping out)
None of the radios effect performance
This happens on music streaming and local
upping the streaming buffer size had no effect
IT is VERY annoying.
I have hard reset the tablet to factory defaults, and tested only google music with no other applications running and the problem persist.
I have cleaned the cache and the Dalvik Cache.
I have tried switching to ART but that just makes more problems.
So I tried to cancel the tablet account only to find the rep lied to me, I cannot just cancel that account when I want I am locked in a 2 year contract. I will have to pay 200-300$ just to get out of the contract. All this for a "free" tablet.
I tried to find a ROM (System image for the tablet) but no modders seem to have made a ROM for this tablet that is stable. I thought about building my own but that is WAY to time consuming and getting the drivers would have been a nightmare.
As a last resort I broke down and ordered a nexus 7 2013 LTE ($115 referb) from ebay and now I have to pay another 10$ to transfer the account to the new tablet. At least I will have something that works again. It should get here tomorrow.
