Why is my Ellipsis 7 displaying eastern time instead of Pacific after yesterday's update?

Noticed when "display network time zone" is checked, Eastern is chosen instead of Pacific?!

Here is what I did to fix it. I went to the settings app. Clicked Date & Time. Clicked Automatic Date & Time, and clicked Use network provided time. It was on "Use GPS Provided Time" and we all know how well the GPS works on these things.

I have the same issue, only I'm in central. Took my Elipses to the local Verizon store and their fix was to manually set the time zone. I told them that was unacceptable, as I travel and expect the automatic time zone recognition to function properly.

My issue seems to have resolved itself. Showing the correct time and time zone.

I too am experiencing this problem with my Elipsis 7. I also agree with previous replies that manual is not sufficient - what got broken in the update?

I too have the same issue! Since the update its showing eastern time instead of central! The update itself was already a headache...... This is getting ridiculous! As I said in my earlier post, I pay too much money a month for preventable aggravation!!! I guess since I learned how to fix the update that wouldn't load from reading this forum...... Maybe someone will figure out how we can fix our time!! At&t is calling my name.... And promising to buy out my contract!!! 2 steps closer in one night.... SMH

julieharp,
We do not want to see you go. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are having with the time zone on the tablet after the update. I would like to do a quick test to see if this helps. Please power your tablet on and off. Once it powers up please turn on Flight mode and then turn it off and let us know if the time fixes itself. Please keep us posted.

Help is right here, julieharp! Let's get your time displaying correctly. Did you toggle between flight mode yet? If so then what's the results? Also, what zip code are you in? I want to verify that you are not on the border of more than one time zone.
Thank you…

I was incorrect about my this being resolved. Sometimes my device displays the correct time, and sometimes it doesn't.
This is unacceptable. The Ellipsis is specific to Verizon. . .any updates should be fully vetted before distribution. If this were a standard Android update (which Verizon does not control), I could understand the lack of control. However, with a carrier specific device I expect the update to be transparent.
Verizon, when can we expect resolution? Or do I need to move to another carrier?. . .we do have plenty of choices.

Hello catastrofe,
Let's get it right this time. I apologize for any frustration this issue has been causing you. When the time is displaying incorrectly is there a specific application that is running? When did this start occurring? I want to make sure we resolve this for you.

jjm60056, I want to make sure that you are able to get the right time on your tablet. Could you please go into your Settings, Tap on Date & Time, uncheck the box that shows "Automatic Time Zone", Then select Central Time Zone under the "Select Time Zone" Section. Let me know if this was able to get you back on the correct time.

I made the suggested change. . .unchecked "Automatic Time Zone" and selected Central Time Zone.
This seems to have resolved the issue. However, this is not really an acceptable solution. The device and software support automatic time zone detection, and I paid for this functionality. In addition, I travel quite a bit and I expect my device to automatically detect my time zone.
If Verizon can't rectify this, I expect to be allowed to return the device and cancel this service from my contract.
Please advise.

I did it and yes it worked.... For about 2 minutes. It seems that when you open something, a game, email, whatever, that's when it changes back to eastern! My zip is 32446 but no I'm not on the border of another time zone. I don't know why Verizon doesn't understand its some kind of glitch in the update you had us do!!! Never had this problem until immediately after the update!!
