My verizon jetpack 6620L has been getting perfect 4g/LTE service for months. Randomly it decides that it can no longer connect to anything but 3G... What happened?

Do the usual stuff: see page 4 of the user guide. Remove the battery and SIM Card, gently polish the battery terminals with your shirt tail for 5 to 10 seconds and then reinstall the SIM Card and battery. Turn the Jetpack on and allow it to fully reboot. Press and hold the Master Reset Button for 10 seconds and release. If you have a custom configuration you’ll have to reconfigure the Jetpack through the user interface.
The recent firmware update requires that you reset your device for it to work properly after the firmware update is complete.

A coincidence that I just happened to mention that same issue to a VZW rep today!
Over the last 2-3 weeks My 4G is constantly dropping and I'm lucky if 3G shows.
Grey no line just shows it's on but it is very sporadic showing 4G actually lit up on the
status/notification line. It was working fine but along with that issue all the sudden I find
myself having to constantly move to different spots as people tell me that my voice constantly
cuts in and out! The very friendly VZW rep on their tech line gave me the usual company
scripted reason why may be experiencing both above mentioned issues. Frankly, the rep attributed it
possibly to changes in my current environment but based on that conversation, it caused me to
remember that 4G is affected not just in my home but in other outside locations as well. I also
remembered experiencing the same issues last year on my old VZW RAZR frustrating and providing me
a reason to replace it with the LG G3. My VZW LG GLad 8.3 has a constant solid and lit 4G signal only affected
When I turn off the tablet. I often get long winded in my text and all that to say....I really don't consider My
normal changes in my environment is the issue and having to stand by my kitchen sink to get better reception
surely is no viable solution! I believe this is an transmission issue period. Not related but my software did an
update today and i'll give it a couple days to see it things improve but sincerly to VZW....Fix The 4G Transmission!
Thank you,

I am eager to get the 4G back for both of you. I do know the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot Mifi 6620L recently received a software update as of 10/22/2015. Have you already been able to update the software?
Press the Power button at the top right of the device (with the display facing you) if your jetpack screen is blank.
Select Software Update.
***Note Utilize the Navigation buttons (left/right arrow) to scroll through the options and the Select button (check mark) to select.
Select Next.
Use the left arrow to select Yes.
If an update is available, follow the step-by-step instructions to apply the update.

My software is up to date. Are there any external factors that might have caused the coverage to drop to 3G? I have been in the same spot getting 4G/LTE for 3+ months.

Having service issues is no fun hobbsjon2 but we can help with some trouble-shooting steps. I also don't show any reported issues in your area currently. You can try a factory reset. The steps are below:
1-Ensure the device is powered on.
2-Remove the battery cover from the bottom of the device.
Note Utilizing the provided slot, carefully lift then detach the cover
3-Utilizing a paperclip (or similar tool), press and hold the reset button until "MiFi® Resetting" appears on the display, then release.
4-Replace the battery cover.
Let us know if this is helpful. You will need to set it up again but this may help because it resets to factory settings.
