Has anyone else received a UPS delivery of an item sent from Verizon called ‘VERIZON FIOS D2C-CTV DS’? With a weight of 9 pounds!
I was not home on the expected delivery date, so it is now sitting with UPS, waiting for me to pick it up…
But, now I’m thinking I might just Return to Sender, since I have not received any communication from Verizon about what it could be?

I got the same box and although I thought I bought something by mistake, when I called Verizon I was told it's a new cable-box to replace my current one. I have a n old box which I can trash after the new box is hooked-up.
This is important: You will lose all your saved DVR recordings but a person who is tech savvy can do transferring himself.
Apparently, all the old boxes will end soon and unless you have a new box hooked-up, your old one will do nothing.

Hello, yes there was a mass replacement of our legacy boxes that are going to be discontinued and the new boxes are replacing them. I do believe this may be the issue. If the equipment changes it will remove the old recordings. The problem here is that if you return the new equipment eventually the old equipment will no longer work.

Really weird - we had our entire system updated to the new stuff with the dedicated video server - and Android based (Fire like devices and remotes) boxes for the system... plus the 1,000GHz router. I got the UPS email today.
My wife will NOT be at all happy with losing her recordings once again. If anyone knows how to transfer the recordings, please let me know.

It’s odd that no notification from Verizon has gone out. I just got an email from UPS about it tonight. Possibly to be delivered tomorrow, out all goes to plan. This is so odd. It would seem that the CS Team dropped the ball.

Hey, that is odd. There were emails and notifications sent out to set top boxes for the conversion. Apologies if you were missed. Glad your boxes are being shipped. Please let us know if you need any assistance.

CS,
I received a UPS delivery email about pending shipment when I don’t have cable boxes. We cancelled the service a few months ago. Can you stop shipment so that I don’t have to go through the process of returning it?

Good Morning,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We arent able to cancel shipments via the social media platform. When you receive the items you can reach out and we can send you a return kit to send the boxes back or you can deny the shipment if you are home when the package is getting delivered

So which box is this. I’m assuming the main one? And I have things saved. How would I transfer them to new one.

Were there any type of communication sent by Verizon to customers at least letting them know about this? I can’t recall seeing such communication about this surprising replacement. If there wasn’t any, then that’s really very bad customer service. I received an email from UPS about getting a shipment tomorrow ”VERIZON FIOS D2C-CTV DS package, your delivery”. Thought it was some sort of phishing email. Didn’t even bother to open it and came over the forum community to find out.

Hi Verizon- I got a notification from UPS on 4/11 that this was coming, but UPS says it’s still awaiting this package from Verizon. It’s now 5/11. Any idea what’s going on?

Gee Whiz! I've had one waiting for the shipper since 4/2. Could the fact that these are likely made in China be responsible for the delay? Maybe not. According to Google's AI, West Coast Container facilities are seeing a 20% increase in volume over the same period in 2024. On the other hand, who trusts an AI for anything?
