I was happy with currents phones. Then Verizon started to promote the biggest trade in(scam ever).
No one is forcing you to trade or even purchase a phone from Verizon. I haven't in years. You're also free to sell your phone on Swappa, Craigslist etc.
Verizon only gives the most back on trade for newer phones that are in pristine condition. On rare occasions would they take a damaged phone, but that is the exception and not the rule.
