What does the 4G network do to the current Blackberry users? Will the current phones be able to be upgraded to the 4G network? When will Verizon offer 4g Blackberry's?

current 3G devices are not forward compatible. The first grouping of 4G devices from Verizon will be mobile broadband cards, the first smartphone type devices are scheduled to arrive 1Q 2011.

Will come soon enough. When RIM has access to Qualcomm and others dual-mode EvDO rA and LTE chips. Should be late ~2011. 3GPP2 and 3GPPR8 LTE which VZW is doing are completely different specs and time is needed to ensure backward-comparability.
