Can't connect to Verizon Home 5G, Even Outside

My address passed the order test to get the gateway shipped, and I can see that the closest Home 5G Tower is about 4 blocks away. There are a few places in the house that work in theory according to the App 5G locator tool. But, I have only the red no signal light on the gateway everywhere. Even if I use a power outlet near the door to test for a signal outside in the yard facing in the direction of the tower, nothing. Is it fair to say that this just isn't going to work? Do I need to bring in a Verizon technician to confirm before I can return without a fee?
