Crippling upload speeds. Please help!!!

Good day everyone! I have experienced extremely slow upload speeds on my device. My phone shows that I should be receiving LTE coverage as "LTE" is displayed after "Verizon" on the notifications bar. The coverage map also shows that I am well within the specified area too.
A friend suggested that I download SpeedTest by Ookla. For the past few months and throughout the day, I've been speed testing my service. The average Upload speed I'm receiving is usually around 0.2 to 1.3 Most of the time upload speed is under 1 MBPS. Download speeds are great and within the advertised range of 5 - 12 MBPS, but I don't believe I've ever had an upload speed between 2 and 5 MBPS.
Is there a special activation that I need or a certain setting I need to have on? I'm really at a loss and It's incredibly frustrating as I'm just not able to send pictures, bank online, browse social media, etc. I'm seriously considering switching carriers but I want to make sure it's not a problem on my end. Has anyone else experienced this? I would like to use my iPhone for something other than a paper weight! Please Help!
Many thanks in advance.

Iconian,
We're sorry to hear about so much trouble uploading. I know that can be very important. Do you recall when this started being a problem? Also, how strong is the LTE signal that you're picking up. On your iPhone, there will be some number of dots in the upper left of the display. How many of those do you typically see in the problem area?

Hello, thank you for your assistance. I first noticed the problem when I began using the iphone 6s+ as my main device. I really think it must be the phone itself as I've compared it to other devices on verizon and their upload speeds. I usually have 3 to 4 of the 5 bars in signal strength. There's no specific problem area really, it seems to be anywhere I am that the upload speed is slow. I even removed the protective case in case it was hindering signal strength in any way. I'm not sure what else to do besides switch to a new device. I'm very dissatisfied with the performance of my current one.

Which data plan is in effect? Is it one of the Unlimited versions that allows for deprioritization and throttling? How do things go when connected to WiFi?

I'm on "THE NEW VERIZON PLAN XXL 24GB" I only connect to WiFi when i'm at home and it's blazing fast. I live in Orlando, FL and according to the coverage map, I should be well covered. Definitely not receiving LTE speeds that verizon advertises.

Recently, does the data speed pick-up much...if at all...if you go beyond your area? If it does, it could point to a tower issue (assuming you connect to a different tower).

I recently traveled across the country, i90, i70 east to west coast. Also from north to south. Ookla has an analog capability that shows signal. Across the country, I experienced the above mentioned speeds, usually less < 1 mbps upload speed. Some of the download speeds were 60 mbps (megabits persecond, but upload didn't even register). I consider this a form of censorship of sharing and makes the phone useless. The analog and signal shows all 5 bars on the phone. OpenSignal app also shows Verizon Antenna location and Identifier which I tracked all of the above over 6000 miles of open country. Often would attempt this 20 times to document thoroughly while at a truck stop. Also tried this with multiple speed test platfroms to identify the Antenta locations with OpenSignal (which it's speedtest is now blocked by Verizon, but antenna can't be blocked nor can the signal strength). Opensignal does provide a map showing the CLEC antenna location relative. I also documented the antenna locations with Google Earth coverage based on open source. I require more out of Verizon, and if this is what 5G is going to be, download only, it's useless other than a youtube "caching" device.

I know slow data speed can be annoying Iconian. I would be annoyed too. I am sure we will figure this out and make sure we get you blazing speeds again. Is anyone else having this issue? You did mention that you did not have this issue on your previous phone. What phone did you have? Please make sure that you have LTE turned on. http://spr.ly/6586D7E9s;
Please make sure that you clear your browser cookies and temp files. http://spr.ly/6587D7E9t Let me know if your speeds improved.

I'm having the same issue. I'm using a Google Pixel 2 xl and the upload speed has averages around .01 kb per second.

We always want you to get the best speeds possible, bmoore1968! Let's take a closer look into this for you. May I have your nearest intersection and zip code so I can accurately pinpoint your location? Does this happen in multiple locations or primarily at one spot, like home or work? What speeds are you getting? Please use this link to test and send us the results: http://spr.ly/6604Eig1C.

Many customers have complained of this situation, and from what Im able to determine, the same procedures (reset network settings, move device to a better location, follow the link to series of inadequate steps) never quite address the issue. Obviously, its not a big enough problem to meet headon, or its just the best way to smooth over something that is inherently too expensive to remedy. Otherwise it very possibly wouldnt be such a topic of frustration to so many users.

I am sorry to hear about the issues and frustration you're having as it relates to your data speeds, Excalibur1. Let me look into your data speed concerns and get more details to help. I appreciate the efforts you tried thus far and and screenshot you provided. What specific data plan are you on? What's your city and zip code? Are you indoors or outdoors when these data speed issues occur? Please share more details about these specifics so we can locate a better solution.
Thanks,

I’m experiencing this same issue on certain towers in SW Virginia and western NC. It’s very annoying as even web browsing is affected due to 0.01mbps upload speeds preventing basic web queries from working correctly. Download speeds are variable too, but consistently in the 40-50mbps range which is acceptable.
I’m on an unlimited 5G do more plan with an iPhone 12 Pro. These speeds were tested with 4 bars of LTE as well as 2 bars of 5G.

Most actual isps have around 1mbps upload, let alone a cell carrier. Who uses their phone to upload large files of data anyway? That's what your better home WiFi is for.

Hi, thanks for the comment. Verizon advertises between 2 - 5 Mbps upload speeds and I'm routinely getting 0.01 (10 KBPS).That's a big difference. I would just like to receive the service that i'm paying for. I'm not uploading large files of data. Simple tasks like connecting to my financial institution or uploading a picture are taking way too long. I may be impatient as my ISP is around 236 MBPS/Upload.
