Dead zone in Santa Clarita, CA

Dead Zone

I'm currently visiting my son here in Santa Clarita, and the Verizon signal is the absolute worst I've ever encountered. I live in the state of Maryland, and ever since I became a Verizon customer 20 years ago, I've never seen such inferior Verizon coverage as what I am experiencing this week in Santa Clarita... And I mean anywhere in Santa Clarita. Verizon should be ashamed.

I've noticed similar dead zones. I'm including a map of zip code 91354 and highlighting the areas I get zero to minimal service. While I may get 1 bar of service, the signal is not strong enough to do anything related to a data connection. It's quite frustrating that I'm unable to start navigation, music, etc through me phone until I'm several minutes away from home.

There's other spots of limited to no service, such as near the Target on McBean and Magic Mountain Pkwy, and the Wesfield mall.

Dead spots and other service issues is not the experience we ever want for our customers. I apologize for your inconvenience and we're here to help.

We've noted your reference to servcie issues in the 91354 zip code area and that you're viewing one bar of signal strength from your device.

A signal bar indicates how far away a cell tower is that you are connected to. Many factors would determine the cell tower's signal you are on, including the line of sight, distance, mobile traffic, and even the time of day.

However, two bars would be considered suitable in most situations. (Different phone models measure signal strength differently). One bar of signal strength for your device might be two bars for another device. Did I explain this OK?

Do you notice that you only ever have one bar of signal on your phone in all locations? -Robert C.

Yes, it is absolutely HORRIBLE even for those of us who live here, and even with troubleshooting AND hooked up to WiFi. (no damage to phone).

BestintheGame, we want to make sure that you have nothing but stellar service. How far from your local area would you need to travel before you can pick up better service?

How about you have somebody got to the Promenade area of Santa Clarita at the intersection of McBean and Magic Mountain parkway?  I can't even send a text most times and phone calls forget it.  Never go through.  Mostly ZERO bars on my iPhone 13 in this area.

I have the exact same issue. I live in the zip code 91390 (a complete dead zone) and have been stranded in Stevenson Ranch, Newhall, Valencia multiple times during the night because the maps on my iPhone stopped working due to NO SIGNAL. There are only a few pockets in Santa Clarita where the connection is decent (not good) rest of the areas are dead zones. It gets scary when you are traveling/commuting at night with no signal and no GPS!

Given how long this issue has been ongoing it’s quite clear you don’t care  about customer service and providing the best network quality.  Verizon coverage in Santa Clarita is hit and miss and I can attest to the dead spot near McBean and Magic Mountain also.  Ever since you started rolling out 5G the network has gone to the dogs!  The phones hold onto the 1 bar of 5G that’s available and you get no coverage.  It’s next to near impossible to get it to switch automatically to the 4G LTE signal  that’s much stronger.

also, what’s the point of showing 1 bar coverage when it means NO COVERAGE?

At this point I'm ready to switch. The service in Santa clarita is beyond unacceptable. For example, yesterday I was at target and when it was time to pay, my digital wallet on the target app wouldn't load because I had no service. I was left embarrassed with a cart full of stuff. Maybe have a wifi connection for Verizon employees like spectrum does.
