I just joined by getting a new phone, a new phone number, and I'm on the plan(s). It seems like whomever had my phone number before me must have gotten constant phone calls from telemarketers. 🙂

That can happen on any carrier. I am lucky my number was our in house number for 35yrs. My phone only accepts calls from people in my address book. I figure if it's an emergency outside of that they will leave a message. I have had no issues with my service over the years. Buy my phone outside of a Verizon store and pay cash for it so payments or discounts for a free phone not an issue. Service works excellent every where I travel. In Alaska had full bars at every port. Unlimited calling and texting while in Canada and signal was excellent there before the pandemic. I am probably one of the odd ones because I have no issues. I chose Verizon Wireless for their coverage. Even my brief experience with AT&T only confirmed my experience that Verizon Wireless had the better coverage at the time.

To answer your question you only need to read through the forum to see the numerous complaints about Verizon not honoring their promotions and their epic customer service failures.
As you can quickly see from reading through this forum, Verizon has a pattern of failing to honor their promotions and burdening their customers with unnecessary aggravation and frustration. Unfortunately, you will likely waste hours on useless customer service calls attempting to get this resolved so please make sure to file claims with FTC (“reportfraud.ftc.gov”) and FCC (“consumercomplaints.fcc.gov”). Also be sure to warn any colleagues, classmates, friends, and family members that may be considering Verizon.

The people who seek out the carrier’s forum are more likely to be having an issue or have a question about their service with that carrier. They don't represent a majority of the actual customer base.

For coverage, yes. For support? Steer clear of chat and stores. The former rarely knows what they are doing and the latter only cares about getting a commission. Although the same can be said for any sales rep regardless of company.
As for complaints. Majority are from people who are too lazy to check their bill, not take responsibility for their own phone usage because it generated an expensive bill, sign things without reading and not read promo details so they post "X is a scam" threads.
Other common complaints are from entitled people who think they deserve a free thousand dollar phone for paying their bill. We have a former Alltel account. If Best Buy won't give me a free Macbook Pro for using them since I was a kid, I don't expect Verizon to get me a free iPhone 12.

At one time I would but not anymore. Verizon customer service terrible. The newest Samsung phones also terrible, definitely not worth their cost.

I recommend you run as far away from Verizon as digitally possible. There's no longer accountability, customer service it's nonexistent, and the way you're spoken to and treated is a direct reflection of how their employees are treated.
As a long-time customer it's not only disappointing but sad to see what was once a leader in the industry now a plummeting disgrace, that lies to their customer base and and takes more than it contributes to our society.
I'm looking into @RyanReynolds new phone company.

I am not experiencing those problems but I buy my phones elsewhere and pay cash so don't have to worry about discounts on my bill and stuff. AT&T works in half the town here and sprint is horrible so sticking to what works good for me. I figure if the others are not great here not going to be good when I travel.

Mint Mobile uses the network of T-Mobile to provide cellular service. You should verify that network is suitable for your needs. Also Mint Mobile is a MVNO service that often prioritized behind the postpaid accounts of T-Mobile.

This network is hot garbage! I switched from At&t a year ago, and as soon as I activated the new phone on the 75$ unlimited plan I noticed terrible and pathetic speeds, and frequent disconnects. I was bamboozled by their commercials and promises of the "fastest" network. After a few weeks I decided to reach out to an agent on their lovely customer support chat portal. I began the session in my most polite and well behaved southern attitude and was quickly disrespected by the agent and wound up having about a 26 hour back and forth online-trash-talking cyber battle weekend royal rumble! Definitely do not recommend this company and for any employee that happens to read this

I pay $146.46/mth for 2 lines of service and its the cheapest plan that supports 5G so $75/mth for a single line seems about right. My plan is the Play More Unlimited 5G UW. In my area, priority network access and access to 5G is necessary because speeds are abysmal during peak times without it. I've had every carrier and the others simply don't work at all during mornings, lunch, and rush-hour. There is a cheaper plan, but its not really significantly cheaper, would not give me 5G access, and would not prioritize my traffic.
I do not have any contract devices on the account. Both are paid off, so this is the price without including a charge for the phone itself.

I always forget more lines are cheaper. We have 3 lines on start unlimited for $45 per line and that includes 5g but we don't have 5g phones.phoned. 1 line is 70 on start so yeah about right.
