How to reduce the Edge payment on unsupported Lumia Icon?

VZW Support - When I signed my Edge contract the current and future value of the Lumia Icon was established under the pretense that Verizon would support the phone across a reasonable lifespan. Given that you refuse to provide the Denim update, I would like to ask you to review the established value of that phone and consider reducing my monthly Edge charge. If you prefer not to reduce my charge and you insist on not supporting Icon owners, perhaps you would consider a free transfer to a phone that you will support with Windows 8.1 Denim? Please let me know as my 1 year anniversary at Verizon is next week and I am looking for options to get to 8.1 with or without Verizon.
Thanks,

You can't lower your payments. You can only pay it off in full or Edge Up to another phone after you have paid the amount in effect when you signed the Edge agreement.

The Denim 8.1 update is still planned for early 2015.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was hoping that someone from Verizon would actually chime in with some token of an attempt to keep me on Verizon. I understand that I can Edge up to another phone but all of the other 8.1 phones are actually less than my Edge payment. I'm not sure how that would work. Plus, if Verizon is choosing not to support the Icon at less than a year in, how will they support those phones in a few months when Windows 10 ships?
Can someone from Verizon support please let me know what is being done to take care of Icon owners?
If it is just a lost cause, please tell me. I'd respect you more as a company and consider doing business in the future if you provided some level of transparency and mutual respect. If the answer is "early 2015" as the other poster joked, that is inexcusable as Denim has been out for almost 6 months and other carriers have had no problems getting the update out.

A VZW rep might respond. It might be days before they do though. Those reps aren't going to have any other information then what you have been given already.

Also it wasn't a joke. It was a quote directly from a Microsoft representative. Microsoft is the company in charge of writing the code for the update. Microsoft will be the company announcing when the update is available.

Your mixing up canned answers from Verizon as useful, vs. The real information from rcschnoor and Ann154 that is actually useful. You will not get a special deal to lower your payments. There is nothing implied or written to supply you with operating system updates for 2 years. The phone is still supported if it needs technical assistance. Your choices are clear, hold on, see if update is eventually released or pay off the rest of the Edge contract and you are free to get a new Phone.
