There was a power outage in my area and I again had NO service on my iPhone. I couldn’t even call my work to advise of the power outage. This happens every time there is an outage. This is ridiculous, especially for all the money I pay for service! Whether or not I have power in my house should have no bearing on my cell phone service.
Not having service during these outages leaves me to believe that Verizon must somehow be connecting/piggybacking to my WIFI to provide cell service when I’m in my home. By the # of posts w the same issue during power outages, it looks like this may be happening to several other Verizon customers.
Hi there. If your phone has the Wi-Fi calling enabled then it would be. Try turning that off. In some home the building materials block the cell signal so some do require this when inside. Have you tried to step outside to see if you get service?

I don’t use WIFI calling whatsoever, so that wasn’t the issue. I have service when the power is on, so it isn’t the infrastructure of my home. And yes, in an attempt to get service during the power outage, I also tried outside my home. Did not have service at all until my power was restored.
