New Tower Activation

In my county a new tower was installed (Cook Rd, Powhatan Va 23139) over a year ago and to this day still not active. I’ve spoken to 2nd level support who was able to see the tower and stated that it would take another month before it’s live. It’s in the testing phase. That was 2.5 months ago. I’ve been a Verizon customer for 10+ years and I would hate to switch to AT&T. I’ve been patiently waiting and it’s running thin. In order to take a call I have to stand outside. Unfortunately in my area, we currently only have satellite opportunities for internet, so talking over Wi-Fi is not really an option.

Please help!

I just came across this message from early last year.  When will the Cook Road Tower become active?  I need it ASAP.

Thanks,

Ken

I can understand your concerns regarding new tower details. Though we can not provide any information on when a tower will go live, we can provide support regarding your network experience. Are you having problems with your service?

Is there any update on when the tower on Cook Road in Powhatan VA will go live? I drove by and saw all the equipment on it this afternoon. Been waiting for a long time.

I e-mailed the Director of Public Safety Communications for Powhatan,  this afternoon about this tower, and this is his response:

"Just spoke with Verizon’s wireless team Manager about this tower.  Waiting on  one piece of equipment that should be delivered soon. The target to go live date is still later this month and or early in July.  I continue to push them and stress how badly we need this tower to be operational."

The latest update I read two days  ago is that “due to some material delays Verizon should now be co-located on the Cook Road Tower by early August.”
