What can be done, if anything, if I can't get cell coverage in & right around my house? Work needs to get in touch with me often, & can't if I'm out in the yard. I checked the coverage map & it says there is coverage. I have verizon residential as well. Each plan is loaded. Is there any "booster" available to correct this? I just can't get cell coverage. I usually can get internet& email. Texting is a problem as well....my family lives next door. They have the same problem.

Hi Celeste15! It is important that you and your family are able to get the coverage and service you are paying for. I am happy to assist!
Please let me know what zip code you are experiencing problems in. When did this problem begin? Are you experiencing problems with voice and/or data services? What model phone are you using? Let me know so I can further assist. Thanks!

It may be beneficial to look into a provider which has better service in and around your home if that is important to you.

Celeste15,
Thanks for providing us your zip code. All is clear in 02896. Do the issues primarily occur indoors or outdoors as well? Does service improve outside of the 02896 zip code?
To answer the question from your original post we do have a network extender accessory that boosts signal indoors,http://vz.to/IHRT6h.

I want to report constant poor coverage in Vienna, Virginia in Northern Virginia zip code 22182. This is the location of my mother in law. My wife travels there frequently (she is there now) but has to work in a library because cell coverage is so poor. She purchased a MiFi device from Verizon and that was also unsuccessful. The most you can see is one bar and audio and data signals are lost constantly. Neither she or I can work there while staying at her house. Vienna is located in one of the most populated areas in the United States. How is it possible the coverage is so poor? The signal is poor both in an outdoors but better when we drive 5-10 miles away.

PensacolaBob,
Thank you for the information! Everything checks out for the 22182 zip code. Do you notice the coverage happens primarily indoors or outdoors too? What make/model are the other devices are not working other than the MiFi? We do have the option to file a ticket with our Technical Support team as well to investigate the area in more details.

Thanks for the additional information PensacolaBob! Which 4G devices do you have? Are other Verizon Wireless users near experiencing the same or just your devices? Which Mifi device do you have? When entering the area try powering the phone off, remove/insert the sim card, power on, test and share if you notice a difference. Thank you.

02896 has roaming in that location so it would be under the extended roaming agreements that Verizon Wireless has.
If your phones do not have the latest PRL you may suffer poor call quality and signal.

Issue in Zip Code 22182 is known.
Network extender is advised for area until improvements in reception are completed.

How do I get a network extender and who supplies this? I would not think
the subscriber would be responsible for insufficient networks......REH

You can get a network extender at a Verizon Wireless store or online and it will boost your signal in areas where the reception is low.

Seeing as NO cellular provider have 100% coverage(nor does any provider even claim it), why would you think that?
YOU choose the provider which is the best for YOU and live with the coverage they provide. If YOU chose a provider which does not provide the coverage YOU need, then maybe YOU should have picked a different provider? Different providers have differing coverages. It is your responsibility to choose the one which fits your needs best.
You can purchase a network extender HERE.

Why would I think that because this is Northern Virginia and Not rural
Texas. Keep in mind that you state that zip code is a known problem but
here is the previous Verizon response:
Thank you for the information! *Everything checks out for the 22182 zip
code*. Do you notice the coverage happens primarily indoors or outdoors
too? What make/model are the other devices are not working other than the
MiFi? We do have the option to file a ticket with our Technical Support

I think your attitude is very surprising for a Verizon support person. We
all travel so how can you know in advance where coverage is good versus
suboptima.?

I think your attitude is very surprising for a Verizon support person. That COULD be because I am NOT a Verizon support person, simply another customer.
We all travel so how can you know in advance where coverage is good versus
suboptima.? Doesn't really matter, NO provider has 100% coverage. NOT even in Northern Virginia! Traveling aside, you state you are interested about coverage in and around your home. I assume you do not need to travel to determine if you have coverage there. If you didn't have coverage there, you should have terminated service before you were stuck with an ETF and tried a different provider. It IS possible another provider would have had better service in THAT location, but then you may not have had the best service when travelling, as you have said. NO SINGLE provider has the best coverage in ALL areas. Sometimes you will not have coverage to suit your needs, regardless of the provider.

You have to choose the provider which is the best for your needs. If having service in and around your home is important, you should have gone with a provider which had the best service in that area. Otherwise, you can purchase a network extender from Verizon. Keep in mind, that will require a high speed internet connection in your home. Verizon is not going to pay for that either, regardless of an insufficient network.

rcschnoor is not a VZW employee from my knowledge.
The previous representative has information from the Verizon Wireless coverage map which is not a guaranteed depiction of coverage and is not detailed with terrain and network issues etc.
Your location has marginal coverage and a network extender would be highly recommended for the area for long term use.

Verizon also has the better coverage in the area. Sprint has even more marginal coverage.

@ PensacolaBob,
The newtork extender is a great way to help boost the signal inside your home. Visit http://vz.to/IHRT6h for more info on the network extender.
