Order on hold for payment

Ordered phone paid with credit card, checked status problem with card. I reenter it same issue, try different card same issue. I was charged 3 times and still order on hold, wife call credit card company was told Verizon ran it and then canceled it. Call customer service was on phone for almost 2 hours, talked to at least 8 different people and last one told me to put in new credit card, I told them no and to cancel order. She said she would bur still showing order on hold for payment. I am going to actual Verizon store tomorrow to see if I can straighten this out and make sure order is canceled and get phone at store. Customer service is awful seem to be an issue from threads on the subject with orders on hold due to credit card problems. Maybe Verizon needs to fix the issue
