I need to possibly get access to a text message OR proof that I sent a text to a certain number for a court case. The message was sent about 2 years ago. Is this even possible?

Hi Jaime.
Oh man, that's a tough situation. Because of security you'll most likely need a court order or warrant. I guess that's kind of a good thing--I wouldn't want my text messages to be able to be read by any person who works there whenever they feel like it. But I don't know how you would send it in. Have you called customer service for the fax number or email? Their number is 800-922-0204.
I hope everything goes okay with your court day.

That message is long gone. If you didn't use Verizon Messages + or an app like SMS Backup and Restore or similar, there's no hope for retrieval. Messages last only a few days on Verizon's servers before being dumped. Even getting a court order for a message sent today would be almost impossible.

JaimeCakes Usage history can be very helpful. Content of text messages are only available in the system for 3-10 days maximum and has to be requested by an attorney. Usage records are available online on VerizonWireless.com for 18 months by looking at your bill http://vz.to/1NgxkvZ

As stated, if you do not have the message archived, you will never get the contents of the message that far back, not even close.
However, if you just need a date and time that a message was sent to a specific number (not the contents of the message) for more than 18 months ago, I believe Verizon Wireless has an archive service that can get the bill from that time. There is probably a charge for this.

What the rep refers to is that you can see what numbers you texted or received texts from for 18 months, but NOT the message details.
