Well I'm not sure if I'm waiting anymore, I almost bought the Droid X in Feb but the Verizon guy told me to hold out for the Thunderbolt. So I didn't purchase it for that very reason and here I am now, stuck in this internet frenzy of rumor after rumor as to when this dang phone is supposed to be released!!! For god’s sake… I’m getting more info from some “Leak” at a Best Buy store on the internet than I have from VW. Well, I’ve waited for a while now and have seen the commercials and still no official word from VW themselves? This is getting old and I’ll probably settle and go back to the Droid X. But then again, I only have 4 months left on my entire contract for my phone and the 3 other phones on my plan, maybe Sprint or AT&T wouldn’t mind my business on their networks? Whatever, I’m done waiting!!! I’ll give Verizon until March 10th and then I’m out!

Better get ready for ATT then because now they are talking "sometime in the 2nd quarter, or first half of 2011"
Sounds like June to me.
Sounds like NO Blunderbolt to me.

seriously? theres already a post witht he exact title and the thread is hot. why make a new one? Spam much?
anyway, nobody will buy the Tbolt ifit doesnt come out in March. if it woulda came out in february im sure verizon coulda had way more customers for it than they will when its released. if its released in June or NOT in march, people will look at it as outdated technology and wait for the bionic or the LG phone lol...
verizon is fuggin up BIG TIME by not releasing the phone by now and fuggin up even more by not communicating and giving us a date/price/month it will be released in. VZW, keep doing this to your customers. Other networks are being upgraded and becoming better, and did i mention CHEAPER? phones on different networks are cheaper...cheaper service...
little by little will they lose customers

I agree with the lesser of two evils however I think that all people are asking for is a little transparency by VZW. I have been a customer for a decade with an air card and expensive cell bill. About $250 a month. I know I can't hurt VZW, but it seems to be a trend that people are pretty P.O.'d. I hope that Verizon sees how they are disappointing people and realize that it is in fact costing them customers. I don't want to hear the over arrogant statements about VZW not caring about one customer or the minority customer for that fact. I think they have ticked off more people than their arrogance will let them visualize.

I agree with the last two statements....I'm not upset that I don't have the phone in my hands..I'm upset with VZN's arrogance and lack of communication with US...the "valued customer"
Like I have said before...I have a crappy BB that I have been wasting 30 a month on for two years because their internet sucks...I would LOVE to know when I'll get a new phone that I can actually use....If they tell me April, I would be fine with that because at least I know now I have to keep babying my piece of crap that VZN talked me into buying in the first place almost 2 years ago

I know that people are unhappy, but I'm trying to think of this from VZW's point of view. There are certainly a lot of people that are P.O.d, but the main concern if they just came out and said that the phone is delayed due to problems with their network is that people that won't even be using the 4g networks for years will have the idea that the network sucks and that will damage VZW's reputation pretty badly, and I think it a wider range of customers than a couple weeks of a phone delay... P.S. All that said I would also like to know why there is the delay, I can just understand a possible reason why they won't tell us.
truuu.
if they released a 4G phone and it had problems with the network, what does it say about the other devices that are coming out on the same network?
so ok theyve had since AT LEAST january 6th to notice that it had problems. why is ti taking so long now? some of us are out of a real phone and waiting.
or were waiting lol

This whole ad campaign for Thunderbolt has completely ruined my opinion of Verizon. Some artificial ploy to build up demand...and really i feel like i've been lied to. I've been a customer for many years and after being told by multiples sales assoc, that i should really wait for this phone...i'm left with no accountability from anyone. I call and get nothing from customer service on release date; told to sign up for some email notification **bleep**, that tells me nothing. I went from being excited about a phone to hating both Verizon and HTC.

The closest thing to an "official" statement from Verizon about the release date for the T-Bolt was at the CES when they said 2Q.
Now this is my opinion, but it's better for Verizon to say nothing when there is a delay in a launch, and here's why. If they said, "Officially" now that the delay was due to problems with the 4G network, this would make headlines and would only undermine everyones confidence in the 4G network. Not a good thing in Verizons eyes. Therefore, no "official" word from Verizon regarding the percieved delay in the release of the T-Bolt.
Everyone who thinks Verizon owes them an explanation because they're "long time" customers??? .... Well, I've owned Chrysler products for over 20 years..... do they "Owe" me an explanation if they have problems on the Dodge Challenger production line?
As for looking for release info from Verizon reps and employees..... Well, Verizon doesn't tell them beforehand about release dates for the very reason I cited above in paragraph 2. Even if they were told not to disclose the info, you know some would.... No, they get their info the same place many of us do, the online phone sites. The online phone sites will post all sorts of info because that's what gets people to access their websites..... and they make money by people accessing their website and seeing the ads there.
Now I'm sure the T-Bolt will be released "soon".. (days, weeks, months?) If you're current phone is dying, and you are waiting for the T-Bolt.... nurse your phone along until the T-Bolt is released. Do what you have to do..... whatever that is. If you really think that so many people are upset enough about the T-Bolt release problem that they will switch carriers.... well maybe this will put some perspective on it. As of 4Qtr 2010, Verizon had 94.1 million subscribers. Now if 3 or 4 thousand + access these forums and if 200 (and this is a high estimate on my part) are "ticked off" enough about the T-bolt not being released to make them switch carriers..... Do you think Verizon will notice? I'm guessing not but not for the reason you might think. Most of the posters here will say it's because Verizon doesn't care about their customers. Well, I'm saying they won't notice 200 customers switching because Verizons daily "churn" is probably in the thousands... so give or take a couple hundred customers one way or the other will just be lost in the numbers.
The vast majority of Verizons customers don't care what phones are in the pipeline. The only time they notice what phones are available is when they are looking for a new phone. Whether it's because their current phone died or they've had their phone for a couple years and they want something new. For example, if I ask my wife or daughter "What do you think about the new phone Verizon is coming out with..... the Thunderbolt?" I'll get a blank stare and a "Huh???"
Bottom line is Verizon will never (never have and never will) make "official" statements as to why something is delayed, because that would just cause more problems in the long run. When they know for a fact when a phone can and will be released..... that's when you'll get an "official" statement about a phones release, not before.
This is just something for all of you to think about. I know some won't agree with me... and that's ok. This has just been my thoughts. And.....

I drowned my Droid X a month ago 7 month into a 2 year contract and have been without a phone at all waiting on the Thunderbolt. Getting to were I'm going to have to settle for less I guess. Another Droid or Evo. Don't know if I want to pay full price for one now anymore anyway.

Mark, don't you have an old phone that you can use temporarily reactivate, or if not, possibly borrow an old phone from a friend to use for a short time? I think the T-Bolt will be a great phone.
I'm not eligible for a new phone until 3/12 and I know my next phone will be an LTE phone, but LTE won't be here in Hawaii 'til late 2011 or early 2012..... so at this time I'm leaning towards the Bionic. But then again, by 3/12 who knows what cool LTE phone will be available.... the Droid Viper maybe???
Good luck whatever you decide to do.....
