Verizon Service is horrible now, has anyone been able to get an improvement?

We've had Verizon forever (back when it was Air Touch and I think something else before that); we've never changed providers. But, Verizon also used to have excellent coverage and great customer service. Ever since things switched to 5G, coverage has completely deteriorated. I live and work in the city, not some remote area, and can't get a signal just a few blocks from my house. Internet connections throughout our metro area come and go (mostly go) and often I don't even have a strong enough signal to make a phone call or send a text message. Is anyone at Verizon listening? Has anyone been able to get Verizon to improve the service in their area or do we just need to leave to a different provider after over 25 years?
