I went to a Verizon store and ended up getting a new phone and switching over from ATT. The main reason for switching was for the trade-in promo. They promised $800 even if the phone is damaged.
I had a Samsung S10+ with a cracked back plate. That's all.
I was quoted $800 BY THE STORE EMPLOYEE HIMSELF while he was processing the trade in.
HE inspected the phone. HE initiated the trade in. HE put in the IMEI to VERIFY THE PHONE'S MODEL. HE did it all!
As he should, he's the employee!
All he gave me was the shipping label. Told me to send it in and I was on my way.
I just got back my trade in value..........$70!!
Reason? PHONE DIFFERENT THAN EXPECTED? I'm sorry.....WHAT?
$70 for a perfectly working phone of a newer Samsung model? Are you kidding me!?
This is a scam Verzion. That phone is a newer model S10+ and all it had was a cracked screen on the back, which WAS REPORTED.

File a Better Business Bureau complaint online. You will get a phone call from a one 800 number which is Verizon trying to contact you. If they can’t resolve it no one can. (This of course assumes you met all of the other conditions of the upper grade and trade-in promotion, like unlimited data plan)
