Why does my service suck all of a sudden

have been using Verizon in this area for years and it has been decent. In the past month or so not a single thing will load on my phone on data. My phone almost always says 3G and hardly ever LTE and forget trying to open a web page without wifi connection. I thought maybe it was my phone going bad since it is pretty old but seems my entire community has been experiencing this problem recently. Why is it all of a sudden sucky? What has changed in the past month that is different from the last 15 years. The weather has been great and I can't understand why Verizon would all of a sudden slow down their service in this area. I already pay quite a bit for this plan so if this is a ploy to get me to upgrade to a more expensive plan, I can't say I'm impressed or inclined.

I know the importance of ensuring your have the best network experience possible. It's truly disheartening to learn that your phone is connecting to 3G more often than our 4G LTE network.  There are currently no open network alerts for the area you have provided. Do you have issues with sending/receiving calls/texts when your phone shows 3G? Which phone do you have with us? Is this happening when using your phone indoors outdoors or both?

I'm in Rapid City SD 57701 and my phone worked perfectly this summer. All of sudden maybe 2 months ago, my service is terrible! I can't make a phone call in my basement (where I live). I was recently in Phoenix AZ, figuring I'd have amazing service in a bigger city. My phone couldn't find service for nothing. I was in downtown Phoenix and No Service...

I just bought the iPhoneXs Max and now I can't get more than the 1x. I can't send imesssages. I can't use apps. I can't do anything with this $1200 phone.

How do I get usable service? We've been Verizon customers since 2004 and haven't had this bad of problems. Please, help me.

same here at League City, TX 77573. Suddenly can't make any phone call in the neighbor on the street (not inside the house). When to Verizon store, they recommend to buy new phone but they are not sure the new phone will work.

I have been having the same issue in zipcode 92064 since the beginning of 2019. No one in store or over the phone can figure out why nothing will load when I have full bars, LTE in this area. I left Verizon before due to their rates. The carrier I went to had awful service, so I switched back to Verizon. But now I am paying twice as much and the service is worse than the former carrier. Verizon is rated as the best coverage, but that is not the experience I’m having now. I will definitely be leaving Verizon if this issue doesn’t get fixed soon. I’m paying too much and getting nothing in return.

Samething in Middle Ga.  31030.  I have dsl for home internet and its slow. Upgraded to unlimited so I could use LTE and now its slower than DSL.

Wireless is not meant to be a replacement for home internet. which plan are you on? Go Unlimited cap hotspot at 600 kbps, Beyond Unlimited gives 15 GB at LTE then 600 kbps, Above Unlimited give 20 GB then 600 kbps

City is Poway, Ca. Intersection of Scripps Poway Parkway and Stowe Dr. Other Verizon users in this area are experiencing the same issue. I don’t use voice services too often in the area, but when I do they are fine. The data is most unreliable in this area. I spend most of my time here, so it is an issue. Went to 92128 (intersection of Evening Creek Dr. North and Saber Springs Parkway) and had no issues. Maybe it’s an issue with the tower in 92064 area.

Obviously with the persistent posts about degraded service from coast to coast, Verizon is experiencing significant issues. However, each response from Verizon Support seems to have the same script with no solution, much less an acknowledgement of the real issue. Come on, Verizon...tell the truth.

Agreed... too many similar issues coast to coast. Responses all too similar...

"Hate to see you leave us" or some version thereof.

"No incidents reported in your area" or some version thereof.

Please address this issue!!

I’m in Raleigh North Carolina area and experiencing the same thing!!! The past 2 months have been awful. Thought it was my old phone. Just bought the iPhone XR and can’t even use it. Literally so slow I can’t even open a webpage. THIS IS DEFINITELY VERIZON MAKING YOU UPGRADE. Considering changing carriers altogether! This is garbage! We pay good money for unlimited data but when I call to complain, of course, they recommend upgrading to the the higher unlimited plan.

I’m in Union Mills NC. When I came here 2.5 years ago I had AT&T which worked fine in KY but not NC.  After some digging I learned from a lot of local people Verizon had this area so I switched and all was fine until a couple of months ago. I had an interesting call with someone in management after going through the usual people first and that whole tired line of questioning ”Is it inside the house or outside.  What I learned is they’re turning off  towers in certain directions, 3g will be completely phased out by the end of year as well any CDMA. Initially this Verizon person insinuated support for older phones especially in rural areas is not going to be there and what tower service we once had is probably going to be sold off to the Cricket/Boost cell service providers.  I don’t know about y’all but I’m not going to go quietly into the night while Verizon plays loose and fast with our wallet.  I smell the need for a class action suit people.

My wife and I have both have the iPhone XS on Verizon.  We just recently switched from AT&T which was probably a mistake.  We both have terrible service when we are at work, where the browser won't load and even large text messages fail. She is at zip code 01731 and I am at zip code 03054.  We are thinking about dumping Verizon and going elsewhere for a service provider.

The same issue is happening not just here, barely outside Nashville, but INSIDE Nashville, now. Something is certainly up.
