Why is service/coverage in my area deteriorating. It used to be good but for the last 6 months it has slowly gotten worse and worse. I thought it was my phone so I got a new Samsung S9 same problems so 900 bucks for no reason. And I'm not talking about a little slowdown. I'm talking 5mb/s to now 10 kb/s a second all day every day now. What am I paying 140 month for? Garbage service?? I used to get people to switch to verizon in my area because it worked so good. Now I am making sure people don't. This is ridiculous.

It's likely due to the network being overload based on it's capacity from all the users in the area.

We are dedicated to offering you the best service when and where you needed it as I know how imperative it is to stay connected. May I have your zip code to pinpoint the area? Is this occurring indoors and outdoors? Are voice and text services affected as well?

Zip code is 77663. It is happening inside and out. Even tried it in my roof. Voice and text are not affected. I have 4 or 5 bars but garbage service. Did a speed test yesterday 25kbs download, but 10mbs upload...Sounds like you have your tower overloaded, upgrade your equipment. Can't watch any videos. Even opening this forum took forever.

Thanks for those additional details, Cmunch62886. There are currently no known issues in the area. Are you only experiencing an issue with data speeds around your home? If so, how far away do you have to travel before service improves? Do you happen to know of any other Verizon users in the area who are experiencing a similar issue?

Were having same degraded service in our area. No matter where we go in zip 23944. Our streaming capabilities were decent until a few months ago.....now we rarely get 3 or more bars and cruddy streaming.

This is not the type of experience we want you to have with your service. Having reliable coverage is critical nowadays since we depend on our phone for everything. Allow us to gather more information to be on the same page. Are you aware if anything changed with your surroundings? Does the service get better when you are in a different area?

Having quick speeds is important. We are here to help. Though the download speeds are within range of our network speeds (5-12+MBPS) the upload (2-5+MBPS) is below average. How are your Voice and Messaging impacted? Are other users experiencing this problem or only your device? How long has this been going on for?

Zip code 30520. I'm also having this problem and from what i can understand there's a tower less than a mile from my home. I switched from at&t 3 years ago because it wouldnt pick up here and Verizon did but since then its stopped working i have to stand in the window & constantly put my phone in airplane mode and take it off just to get service again for a few.

BR20,
I'm alarmed to see the slow speeds you have been experiencing! We are here to help turn this around. When did you begin having trouble with your service? What is your city, state, and closest intersection, so we can check your coverage?

73111, seems to be like old dial up speed at times. Shows 4g, but usually only 2-3 bars. Seems as though when I subscribed to go unlimited, speed decreased.

Hello Eds650, thank you for contacting us. We know how irritating slow data can be, and we're here to help you get better speeds. We don't have any outages or alerts in that area. You seem to have a pretty good signal. Changing to the Go Unlimited plan can definitely mean decreased speeds. When you have the Go Unlimited plan, you have the lowest priority on the network and during times of congestion, data will be slower. With our new Mix and Match options, each line on your account can get the unlimited plan that best fits their needs. You can learn more about our unlimited plan on the following link: https://www.verizonwireless.com/plans/unlimited/. We'll be standing by in case you have any further questions.

Followed your advice, same results by updating new unlimited plans. My 2 AT&T coworkers have signals when my phone says off line and no internet and 1 bar or going to 3g

Thank you for clarifying that for us. We are sorry to hear that this is going on in your area. With regard to this location are you only having issues indoors or outdoors as well? Is this the only location where you are experiencing slow speeds? JasperM_VZW

Inside and out, all areas.
Home and work 73111 and 73145.
Poor results on speed test already posted. Why not just call me to speak directly instead of responding with same questions from different reps?

Why is the Verizon service in the Albany NY area deteriorating so much? From Albany, 787 and South on Thruway from Exit 23 and Coxsackie, Athens & Catskill the service has deteriorated to almost 10% dependability. Why is this happening? Check from zip code 12047 to 12015 and reply.
