I am traveling to Guatemala on Sunday. I will not need to use my phone every day, but I want to be able to use it certain days to call family incase there is no WIFI.

You just add TravelPass feature to you phone's plan and you are set. Go to the international coverage page on My Verizon and you'll see it there.
