i have a prepaid phone and i am wanting to get a smart phone plan but i don't want to go through the hassle of switching phone numbers. Is it possible to keep the same phone number?

Yes, it is possible.  You just need to change the MEID that you have in your account. The phone number is going to be the same. for further assistant call 888-294-6804.
