trouble connecting my Blink Security cameras to our new internet?

We recently switched over to Verizon for our home internet.  I was able to connect all  devices except our  Blink Security Cameras.  Is there a way to increase the bandwidth  other than disconnecting devices?

Any luck with getting support for this issue?

I have tried using the Guest WiFi and iot connections (since they are  apparently a 2.4g connection) and still unable to connect.

I know Blink won’t work with a 5G WiFi connection but still lost why the guest or iot connections don’t solve this issue.

anyone have luck getting blink to connect with Verizon 5G home internet?

I basically keep having to restart my internet once a day and reconnect my cameras in order for them to work consistently… it’s extremely inconvenient especially when I use the cameras to watch my pets or other pets that i foster while i’m at work.

See my detailed reply below but that is how Verizon's Tier 2 tech team solved mine. They did the iOT (2.4g) and all of that. They finally connected me to Amazon's Blink tech team to do an update on that end and it finally worked.

Has anyone had any luck getting them to connect? We just switched yesterday and Blink is the only thing I haven't been able to get to reconnect.

  • Wi-Fi must be dual band, create a differently named 2.4 band in your router in which cameras operate.   They cannot handle the 5g band.    E.g. NAME24IOT  versus Name5G

  1. Unplug Power; Sync Modules – for no less than 30 Seconds.  This process should kick off a Sync Module firmware update.

  1. Use Paperclip, depress reset button on the side of the module, tiny hole; and hold in as you plug power back in, don’t let go of reset button.

  1. Once Red-Light Illuminates on the Sync Module, let go of reset button – A firmware update will let go of the old data and the new firmware will load as you use the app to reload the sync module(s) in the traditional manner using the NAME24IOT Wi-fi.

Are you able to better explain how to make it a dual router or rename the 2.4?

I have spent HOURS on the phone. over several days, either talking or chatting with Verizon trying to fix this. So far, nothing is working. They did a software update and told me to wait 24 hours to see if it worked. After finding this thread, I'm not holding out much hope that the software update will fix anything.

After hours and hours of  text chats, phone conversations, numerous updates, fixes, and attempts, over a 2 week period, Verizon patched me in to the Blink tech team and they were able to get it solved. It took a LOT of perseverance on my part and finally getting just the right person at Verizon Tier 2 tech to get the Blink tech team involved. I was a happy camper! A week later and it is still working great and my cameras are connected.
