Earbuds not working

Been using the adapter to connect and use earbuds and my phone did a system update over weekend. Went to plug in earbuds and now today the sound plays but won't play through my earbuds.

System updates are supposed to enhance your phone, RPEANUT. I'm so sorry the earbuds stopped working after your update. Let's get this resolved. 

 

You mentioned the sound plays on the phone, can you tell me if the earbuds work for any function at all? Like, on a call? Have you had a chance to try other earbuds? I'd like to narrow this down to see if it is the phone/ update, or the earbuds.

 

Meanwhile, please try powering the phone OFF for 3-minutes, and then back ON, and test again.
