I dont know what is Verizon waiting for update out Moto Z family, Oreo was released long ago.

Probably they putting bloatware on rom, but Im gonna finish the contract if they dont upgrade

That's responsibility of Motorola/Lenovo not Verizon Wireless.

Um, it's totally Verizon's responsibility, Motorola has already released Oreo for non carrier branded Moto Z Play

The OS build for the unlocked model is completely different from the Verizon Wireless model. Motorola has to write it separately and test it before it is released.

Like the OP said, we are waiting on Verizon to "test" the software on their Network, aka add Verizon bloatware
