This weekend someone at VZW must have died and fell on the 4G switch because just for about 1 to 2 hours I had 4G. Is this by chance or am I getting 4G running in my area. Please advise.

If you get 3G you will get 4G by the middle of next year at the latest. Verizon has already state all their 3G areas will have 4G coverage by mid 2013.

There appears to be pockets of 4G LTE network in Pocomoke City, MD which looks close by.
Verizon Wireless' last announcement stated that they will cover the 3G network footprint by mid 2013 instead of the end of 2013.
