4G issues with Razr Maxx

I live in Oakland, CA where there is good 4G service. Yesterday drove to another area of Bay Area where there is no 4G and switched my network mode from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only. I have read in various forums that doing this is a good idea help with battery longevity. When I came home I switched back to CDMA/LTE but have not been able to get any 4G service since. I have rebooted several times with no luck. I called and spoke to tech support tonight and they couldn't do anything other than submit a trouble ticket. Evidently there are no network issues in the area. On another forum I was told that an imminent software update will help with this issue, but no further details were given. I will also say that I dropped the phone yesterday and don't know if that would contribute to this but everything else works fine and I don't recall the 4G going out right after I dropped it.
Hoping to get some thoughts on what might be going on.
Thanks.

Yup that's what the tech told me last night. Unfortunately took the advice
of various forums.

When mine does that, I power Wi-Fi on. That seems to kick in 4G, also. Then if I don't want Wi-Fi, I power it back off. But my 4G continues to work. Seems to wake it up.

Try pulling the Sim an see if that fixes the Issue but before pulling it.. Turn the phone off pull the Sim an be careful handling it hold the Sim by it's edges only leave it out for a Min. then Reinstall it power up the Maxx an see if starts working as it should. B33

Hi thanks for your comments. I ended up bringing the phone to a Verizon store since I tried everything suggested and more. Ultimately it was a phone issue and I was able to swap it for a new one which works perfectly. Great phone.
Thanks again.

Good Deal glad they was able to get another Maxx for ya. Got to ask a question! on your New Maxx you just got.. when you look at it head on or were the ports are does the chrome that surrounds the Glass on the right side does it look like it sticks up a little higher than the left side mine does an i was wondering if it does on that one if so i'd say this is a normal manufacturing thing.
