After OTA Update to Jelly Bean, Motocast no longer works on Droid RAZR

Jelly Bean has completely broken Motocast on my Droid Razr 16gb.

I start Motocast, I hit the setup button, a spinning circle appears for a second saying, "configuring Motocast" and then it changes to "Unfortunately, Motocast has stopped."

I've rebooted, tried removing my Motocast account through Settings, I've tried clearing the Motocast app cache and app data.  I'm ready to do a factory reset, but fear that the problem will still be there.

Additionally, I am unable to Setup Motocast Wireless on my PC.  When I try to sign in, I get the message, "

ERROR:An error has occurred signing in. Please try again in a few moments.

undefined"

Motocast was working perfectly before the Jelly Bean update, so I don't see how it could be anything else.

Help Verizon????

Same problem here... I even tied the Motocast id to my Google account, that did not help.

Is the app compatible with JB?

Yes, it used to be inside the My Music app, but Google/Moto did away with that and made MotoCast a standalone app. This was according to Moto's website and the updates with JB.

There is a thread going on at Motorola's Motocast site, and Motorola hasn't answered the problem.  I suspect if they don't, neither will Verizon.  I just gave up on the stupid program and copy the files to my phone to watch.  Who needs the thing hogging resources anyway.  There's always Dropbox, too.

I've got other ways to do it, so to not use the app would not disappoint me. It is the point that it was changed to a standalone app in the update and they should support it and make the app work. I mean, we are talking about Motorola/Google....

Ok, I got it working. I did a chat session with Moto Support, and he had me to a cache wipe, and it worked fine. To do this, it is the following steps. Please note, the 5th step I did not do right the first time, so it did nothing. Press and hold the volume down and wait for a second or 2 and then press and hold the volume up and the volume down buttons for about 5-6 seconds, and then release.

I also had to download and setup the computer portion of it again by signing into www.mymotocast.com , and once it "repaired" my original installation, the setup and everything worked fine.

  Thanks Franzel from Moto Support.

Franzel: Turn the phone off and perform Clear Partition. Clearing the partition will remove any temporary files that may be causing the problem, but will not delete your files or settings.

- Power the phone down.

- Hold the volume up and down and power key down all at the same time until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu. This should happen within a couple of seconds.

- Press the volume down key until "Recovery" is highlighted. Press the volume up key to select.

- Wait until you see a triangle with an exclamation point in it.

- Press and hold the volume down key. While doing that, press and hold the volume up key then release them. This should put you into the Android system recovery.

- Press the volume down key until wipe cache partition is highlighted.

- Press the power button to select. You will be brought back to the Android system recovery utility when it is complete.

- Press the power button to select "reboot system now". Wait for the phone to boot.

Also, I love the interface of the new app.... I hope they keep this app alive.

Great post!  I had the exact same problem and this solved it, thanks!  The assistant manager in the Verizon store that I went to had no idea.

Having the same problem, I tried just repairing Motocast on my desktop and deleted the cache on my Razr Maxx. Problem solved for me!
