Android 4.1.2 update has me wanting to throw my RAZR MAXX through the window

Upgrade pushed 40 hours ago. Upgrade went smoothly. After the upgrade, I have a 0.5-1.0 second delay between any gesture and a response from the phone. This is worse than using a 300 baud TTY. Another Droid RAZR HD has no issues with 4.1.2. I have been reading threads and trying to find one that is relevant. No luck so far. Very frustrated.

That would be frustrating... have you tried restarting the phone (power down, then restart?)   Or holding the power and volume down to really clear out cache?  Check the battery and data usage and see if there is an app that is causing the lag?  I'm just throwing out ideas... my Droid 4 (also Motorola) got the update to 4.1.2 yesterday morning (a little over 24 hours ago) and seems to be fine.... no lag, if anything, it's smoother and faster than it was.  Wish I could offer more help!

Another suggestion is a system cache clear; instructions have been posted numerous times on this forum, but let me know if you can't find them.  If all else fails, back everything up and do a factory reset.  Hope it improves; I'd be irritated, too!

Initially my phone worked well after the update, then a week later battery life fell dramatically. Although I didn't do a factory reset as many board members recommend with a major update before updating, I performed one and my phone works better than when I first updated to JB, with battery life now back to normal.

I got things back to usable, and am even starting to like some of the new features. Here is what I did. 1) reboot, no effect 2) clear cache, no help 3) uninstall a load of apps I don't use often, trying a divide and conquer strategy to see if I can find an offending app.  Reboot. Success! 4) started reinstalling the apps. All are back in place and no issues.  I don't know what really worked, and now I can't reproduce the problem.

Glad to hear things are back to "normal", working, and that you are liking the update.  As to what was causing the laggy behavior, my guess would be one of the apps you uninstalled and then re-installed.  Uninstalling got things cleared out, and then re-installing fixed whatever had gotten corrupted to cause the bad behavior.

In any case, it's good to hear the problem is resolved.
