App-selective use of Bluetooth

Droid Razr running latest ICS

I use bluetooth to connect to a Ford Sync system, for handsfree calling. This works well, but it has a cost.

When I use Google Navigation,  voice prompts are routed to bluetooth also, so I lose that capability. I know this is so because if I switch the Sync audio source to bluetooth media stream (which then disables all other music / radio), I do hear the voice prompts over the car audio.

Ideally, I would tell the Navigation app to never use the bluetooth connection, but I see no option for that. Optionally, voice prompts could break into the normal audio stream, the way incoming phone calls do. Again, no option I can see.

Is there any hope here? If there were a simple one-step bluetooth toggle I'd try that, but switching using the phone menus is just too much while driving.

DrDuck, I feel your pain and I’m here to help!

I researched this and did not find any information on that being an options in the manual. I recommend you contact the cell phone manufacturer to see if they have additional information regarding the Bluetooth settings when use Google Navigation at 800-734-5870 or online at www.motorola.com/android or www.google.com/support/mobile.
