Bluetooth device auto answer in Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS

When ICS installed on my Droid Razr some of the settings were lost. For example, the auto answer was set to ON for all bluetooth devices. This was causing problems because I want to preview the incoming calls first to decide which ones to answer. After spending a lot of time with the documentation, help, forums, etc., and having Verizon reps tell me the settings had to be changed in each bluetooth device while the bluetooth device people all said it is a setting in the phone, I finally figured out that it is a setting buried in the ICS settings. Although I did not find the specific solution to my problem in the forums, they helped me to understand the context-sensitive nature of the setting in ICS.

So if anybody else is having this problem, here's the answer. First touch the PHONE icon, usually on your home screen unless you moved it. Then touch the SETTINGS button on the phone (bottom left) and select SETTINGS. There's lots of stuff in here that you might find usefull but the specifc one i needed is down the list a bit "Auto answer on headset." When you touch that you get a list of various answer times with OFF at the bottom.

Yes. it would be nice if Verizon trained their reps better, but generally their support is pretty good so they must be still playing catch up with ICS.

Hope this helps others.
