Broken Volume Button and Stuck in Safe Mode.

I recently dropped the phone in the toilet, dropped in while phone was in my back pocket Smiley Sad and thankfully only dropped in toilet water and nothing else.

I had immediately grabbed my phone dried it off and checked to see if it was fine.

Power button and volume buttons were slowly reacting when I would press them. Then all together would not respond.

Let my phone dry out for about an hour and a half still no response.

Put it on the charger phone powered up again but, had gone to the Boot Menu.

Tried to use the Volume button to select but did not work.

I just simultaneously press volume and power button then phone restarted.

The phone restarted in Safe Mode.

Now my phone is stuck in Safe Mode with a broken volume button.

I just want to know if there's a possible way to get out of safe mode any other way without a working volume button or am I just screwed.

If you haven't already done so, turn your device off and put it in a ziplock bag covered in rice to dry it out completely for 24 hours. Then see if it works.

drying it out without 24 hours in the rice probably killed it when you powered it up.

not sure what's up with the button but probably pressed too hard or it was wet or it happened before the cruise.

hope you have insurance.

I think you are sol.... The rice trick works only when done right after the incident, and works better when the device has not been powered up since it was exposed to water.

That is very unfortunate bonka89!  It's actually happened to me before as well!  I was lucky it was only water too (Smile)!  However, since this device doesn't have a removable battery and the power and volume buttons aren't working, I don't see a way of getting it out of safe mode.  I know you don't have insurance coverage for your device, but when are you eligible to upgrade again?  If not soon, you may be eligible to purchase one of our Certified Pre-Owned devices at a discounted price.  Check them out here: http://bit.ly/TQDkhJ.  Let me know if you're interested.  Thanks!
