CDMA/LTE / CDMA ONLY Mode Switch!

I'm writing this to help the New Comers or any one that come on the Post that have Question an ask about this one.  CDMA/LTE  OR  CDMA Only.   An were should the switch be placed at

This is a Critical switch it has a Strong influence of what the Radio does an switching Can as i was told by a Tier 2 tech at Verizon Cause Havoc.  The tier 2 went on to say and i Quote its like Like flying a Jet and in Mid air you flip on the Thrust Reverser's a little harsh it may sound but it can have that same effect on the phone.  Why you ask!  it's hard to get the phones internals once switched to CDMA only to function Properly when put back in the CDMA/LTE.  An as i said i think he know what he's talking about as he an other Tier 2's had a course on the the Razr's then a refresher course on the Maxx an this was a big Subject that the Motorola Instructors pushed. He also told me that he Carries the phone as does many of his Co-Workers do at the Call in Center he works at..

This is only a Suggestion that i'm passing on to all:  But think about it strongly if you have to make the Switch..b33 Smiley Happy

No No Bear it not a 4G only Switch: This switch when it's in CDMA/LTE an it comes this way when you first purchase the phone. lets the Phone flow back an fourth over the Networks an when a person puts the switch to CDMA only it will only allow 3G or 1X.

And what i was wanting to inform ones on is that Moving this switch to the CDMA only can cause the phone not to want to connect when the person is in the 4G Area an wants to switch it back to use it There..

no....i think he's just saying to be careful when "forcing" it to cdma only....because it's designed to be able to automatically switch by leaving it set to cdma/lte (where it will switch signals to cdma when no lte is availabe, but use lte if it's available). but just an fyi, i leave my tbolt on cdma only about 80% of the time and it has no issues going back to cdma/lte (i have seen a number of people have these issues though, on many different lte devices).

i understand what your both saying.

bottom line, i don't want to be in a catch-all of spending the bulk of time in 3g & maybe not be able to get back into 4g when the droid x is filling all my needs.

maybe the difference in htc/motorola technology, ways of doing things.

Bear it's not that bad trust me i live in 3G only area right now as we haven't been Upgraded Yet an when i got Wichita my Maxx does the switch Smoothly i'll be watching the screen the 3G will go away an in about 5 sec. or less the 4G pops in. it does this just our X's do when they go from 3G down to 1X.. You be ok to buy one Smiley Happy just take the plunge

LTE in phoenix is as solid as it gets. if i had a 3300mah battery, i'd leave it on LTE all the time. the only reason i leave mine on cdma only is because the tbolt is battery hog and cam with a 1700 and was the first LTE device so if left on LTE/cdma, it's dead in a matter of hours. the radios have evolved and with a 3300, i would bet the MAXX would go 2 days easily on LTE in the phoenix area (with fairly heavy use).....but that's just my guess.

i live at 7th street and union hills (just south of the 101) and my office is at 32nd st and indian school rd. the only times i have issues with LTE are around the camelback mountain area and a few other spots (typically next to other mountains)

AZSALUKI  that is Correct!  And as i pointed out in post before I Called an asked a Tier 2 before i even turned my phone for the first time. He told me the Bionic & Razr / Razr Maxx of all of the 4Gs is the one's that are a stinker to get it to switch back once switched.

Where i live i don't have LTE service but just a few miles away (Greenville ,NC) there is LTE but i was told to keep my Razr Maxx on CDMA so it would not drain the battery when going from LTE to cdma that the phone would be searching for LTE when there was none and that would take more power out of the battery. . Is this true or not ?

Well i'm in the same situation you are your in But with my Maxx i was told by the Tier 2 when i called in for advice an programming of my phone to leave it in the Position that i mentioned in my main Post. My Battery does Fine After pulling it off the Charger if Lightly Used it will go Darned near 3 days before needing charged again. If i pull it off the Charger an go to Streaming Music Via Wi-Fi i can go 16 to 18 hours. But it's up to you if want to Leave it were it is an you have No issues when you make the switch when you go into the 4G Area i would do That. But my thinking is were it's set at when you get for the first time is a Automatic switch for the Device it let's the phone make the Decision when it needs to Shift back an fourth. If you think about It's kind an Automatic Transmission you put it in Drive an let it shift back in fourth as you slow down an Speed up..b33

Well this sounds good but still does not explain why there 4G network does NOT work where they say it does. If it did, we would not have to switch to 3G only network. Verizon techs tell me there is no problem and that they never heard of this problem.

One tech even insisted that i remove my battery from my phone (RAZR MAXX) to reset it so sometimes i wonder if they know what there talking about.
