Deleting email account from Droid Razr M

For my email set up, I used my Yahoo account and set it as the default. Now I'd like to delete it and just use my Gmail account.
i've tried tapping and holding the Yahoo account, and I don't get the remove button. Every time I go into Settings > email accounts > acct settings, it's listed as the default email, no matter how many times I've unchecked it. I also don't have it synced.

I haven't messed with a Razr M much... so I'm assuming it's like the razr maxx.

the only thing i have with 3 little lines is the notification bar on the top right. when i pull it down, it lists recent updates, active smartactions, but nothing about my yahoo acct (even when i have my acct open).

Does it have any buttons on the bottom? like a home button, back and search? Its usually beside the home button. If you're on the home screen, and hit it, it should bring up a small list that says wallpaper, manage apps, system settings?

The Razr M has on screen buttons. The three vertical dots in the top bar of the application is called the overflow action. It replaces the menu button for the application.

To get to the phone's settings, pull down the notification bar to open the notification window. At the top should be a settings button. Otherwise you can access the Settings in your application drawer.

To remove an email account from the phone, you will open the phone's settings and scroll down to Accounts. Select it and touch to account you're looking for and from there you should have access to the various options for the account including removing it.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Steve + Ann, thank you so much for your replies, I've tried your suggestions, and there is still no 'remove' option linked to the email account. Looks like I have to go to the Verizon wireless store. *cringe*

Before you go to the Verizon store try:

Settings > Apps > All  and clear data and cache for Email and Yahoo if it exists.

When I go to settings > apps, there's a list of my apps, no choice for "all".

Beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with my razr?

My son warned me that Yahoo is wonky on Droids. (Which is why I want to migrate everything to Gmail and come out of the dark ages, lol!)

All is one of the column headings at the top "Downloaded" "Running" "All".  If you cannot see all slide the column headings over to the left.  Select the "All" tab.  Now hunt through the apps listing.

That really surprises me... but like i said, I haven't messed with the M to much, just figured it was similar to the rest of the razr family.

I will admit up-front that I haven't seen a Razr M in person, but I also thought some things would be similar to other Razrs and the Bionic.  It looks like some things are, but some things aren't.  The instructions for deleting an e-mail account are at the top of page 32 in the on-line manual ,and it is a different process than I'm familiar with:

Guess I'll have a bit of a learning curve whenever I upgrade my phone.

I just looked on youtube and replied with that link and it looks like they've created a shortcut settings screen... without having a "menu" button?... Maybe that has to do with the OS version.

Unless I'm being completely obtuse (definitely a possibility!),  "accounts and sync" does not exist under apps > settings, and no matter what else I tap + hold, I don't get a "remove acct" option. Maybe there's something I didn't set up properly initi

This is driving me batsh*t. Now I'm on a mission ...
