My Droid X had a feature to select multiple text messages to delete at once. I have recently activated a Droid Razr Maxx and either I'm not seeing that feature or it isn't on the Maxx? It did carry over with Visual Voicmail but not text?
thanks for any help.

Thtrgal, have fun with your new Droid Razr Maxx! I'm sure you'll love it! I checked and with Ice Cream Sandwich, there is not a setting to delete multiple text messages at a time. You can delete a whole thread, or multiple threads, but not multiple messages within one thread. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi Thtrgal--
I don't know if this will help you, but one thing you may want to try is protecting some of the messages and deleting the rest of them. You can protect the messages you want to keep in one thread by pressing on the message and holding it. A box will come up, and one option will say "Protect Message." It puts a lock on the individual message so it can't be deleted until you unprotect it. So protect the messages you want to keep, and then you can delete the rest of the thread. You can always delete the protected messages later, either all at once or one at a time. To delete them all at once, it will give you the option to delete protected messages, and you just check the box and click delete. To delete them one at a time, you just unprotect the message in the same way you protected it but when the box comes up select "Unprotect Message."
I hope this was helpful for you.

I just deleted multiple messages on my Droid by doing this. Touch one of the messages until its highlighted color changes. Text mail is now in a new mode. After this manually touch as many messages as you want, highlighting them. Then, touch the trash can in the upper right corner to delete the highlighted files.
It's not as easy as Windows where you can do a touch on one file and 20 files later shift + click to highlight all 20, from which you can do whatever you like to the 20.

This worked great although I wish there was a "delete all read messages" button instead. Thanks for the help.
