Could someone tell me which apps are okay to disable? I have several apps running and I don't know which ones I can disable because some of them I don't really know what they are or what they do.

Can you list the apps you are thinking about disabling?

With the ICS operating system, a user can uninstall any application updates and then disable the application. This will remove it from the app drawer, but won't remove it from the phone completely.

Right, but it's more than just removing from the app drawer (which can be done by several launcher apps for example), it also prevents it from running. While consensus is mainly that apps running isn't really an issue with Android, many newer users get freaked out by seeing some of these running in the background, which is why task killers were so popular. So, this does everything except remove it from the phone's storage, reducing the need for [name suppressed for ToS..] TB-type applications.

I disabled My Verizon Mobile on my Nexus because I didn't like how I couldn't log out my account. I don't usually check MyVerizon account from the phone anyway. If I do, it is through the browser.
