I bought my Droid Razr about two months ago and immediately started have NO Data connections. They told me so many **** stories it was impossible to keep up. Finally after a week they tried a new sim card. That did nothing. So a few days later they decided to try a few things else and none of those worked. As soon as my 14 day return policy was up, which they consistently refused to discuss returning it, they said I would have to have it replaced with a REFURBISHED PHONE! I paid over $200 for this ****** and over $200 in accessories on to get a refurbished phone! Guess what, it has been two months and all morning I still only get 3g or 4g when my piece of sh*t RAZR decides to give it to me.
Worst Verizon phone EVER!!!!! Verizon scammed me big time! I have spent countless hours on the phone with tech support, "super tech support" etc. Yeah, they get my phone working until they hang up! They erased my phone completely once saying it needed to be rebooted, losing all my information only to do nothing! Tech support can not help you. Holding your volume and off button will not work. Resetting your phone will not work. Getting a new sim card will not work. Replacing your junk RAZR for a refurbished junk RAZR will not work.
So, other than Verizon employees. Does anyone have one of these that actually works?

I'm on my 4th bad luck Razr in two months. Hours on phone with Tech. Factory resets, re-add three email accounts that have to be manually input, re set phone settings to the way I want them. All times four.

Out of curiosity, how would you know since your post makes it sound as if you are unwilling to do this. Sorry if I have misunderstood and you DID actually get a refurbished phone.
One thing to try when you factory reset a phone would be to make sure NONE of your application settings are saved prior to resetting your phone. Otherwise, if it is an app which is causing the problem, when you reload the app and restore the settings, you will be having the exact same problems.

I've received 2 refurbished Razrs in the last two months. The third refurbished Razr is on its way to me now. All have had different problems. Prior to the Razr I had fours (4) refurbished Droid2s. All with different problems. Customer service, today, told me I should be happy to have Verizon because they don't charge for tech support. (?really? a two-week-old-phone under warranty and a person should be happy they aren't being charged for tech support? )

I have had a droid razr for about 3 weeks. The first weekend it lost it's data connection. I spent almost an hour on the phone with tech support and we ended up doing the total reboot. I didn't lose anything because of my Google play account holding all my apps and all of my important data like my photos and documents is usually stored on the cloud. However it was a pain in the ass, but it was worthwhile to log the issue to have a record of the instance. Since then I found a Motorola app called Restore Connectivity Settings. They have different ones for different phones so just look for the droid. It was designed to accommodate 4g networks but it works just as well for 3g. Since I installed it I have had several instances of a lost data connection and it has restored it every time with a click. Since I have the issue logged, I reported back to Verizon every time that the I have had the lost connection to also get it logged and I have told them that I will give them a fair amount of time to roll out a fix or I want a new phone. I have been a Verizon customer since they began selling phones and service and they have been very good to me over the years.

I have been a Verizon customer since 1993. I have two phones and a PC modem card. My monthly bill is around $250. That's $3000 per year. In 19 years' time I would have spent $57,000 with Verizon. Just say, to be conservative, it was only half that. $30,000. Verizon treated me well up until the time I got a smartphone and they started getting really complicated. I understand they are like little computers.... complicated. High tech. But I have lost faith that the factory refurbished phones are dependable, since I've had 3 on the Razr-- in two months and 4 on the Droid2 in 14 months. CS tells me the warranty only covers factory refurbished phones. I wish, after the 7 phones in a little over a year, that some mid level manager would make an executive-type decision, reach into a drawer and pull out a brand new replacement for me. They tell me they can't do that because the phones cost Verizon $500. Well, I'm not impressed. I've spent between $30,000 and $50,000. The $500 just doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

As rc said you might need to do a Factory Rest an just Because you live in a 4G area doesn't always mean you will get it especially if they just deployed it in your Area. The technician's might be tweaking the system for weeks to get the Kinks out if. an if it goes down Nation Wide you not the only one with out it Millions are.
An to answer you final Question: So, other than Verizon employees. Does anyone have one of these that actually works? Yes mine is Working Great But i also know what to do with it. If it has an issue, And i only use Reputable apps from the Market, An when i surf the Web i go to places i know that are safe an when i 'm done i clear the cache an everything else. I have had a Droid phone for 2 years an Black berries before them..b33

it used to be nice in the old format where you could add where you lived, if you cared to.
bottom line, i think some folks buy the razr/maxx/any 4g phone without looking at the coverage map, find out they're on the fringes of 3g & whine about poor or no service.
fwiw:
i've got a friend with a maxx who just traveled to/from oregon from phoenix & i was giving him wx updates thru some garbage wx all thru california, as he was going to oregon.
in oregon no internet at the house he was staying & he used the phone as a hotspot for a laptop without any aggravation.

I reached this community forum out of sheer frustration. I am on my 4th Razr in two months. I really wasn't in the market for a Razr but I had at least 6 Droid 2s in the past 16 months. The last one was working fine for a few months, then charging connector quit working, battery wouldn't charge (problem in the phone, not the battery) phone inoperable within a day. Went in to Verizon store and was told it was out of warranty because original Droid 2 was longer than 12 months ago. The last FIVE factory refurbished replacements that failed counted for nothing I ended up paying $$ out pocket to replace the phone. SO here I am again holding my third failed phone in two months, waiting for the fourth to arrive. Overnight shipping to cost me $12.95. NEVER has overnight shipping on replacement cost anything. I was told that the others were shipped over night to me no charge on a one-time courtesy. Tech person put me on hold for about 10 minutes, came back and said manager would not approve an exception. I'm thinking that for 9 failed phones in 16 months and ALL of the time and hassle I've spent factory resetting, waiting for replacements, setting up again the way I want.... for all that times 9 phones * I * could use a little courtesy.

I realize I am replying to every post with my sad tale of woe. It's is all I can think of to do that will vent my frustrations. While I am waiting for my 4th Razr (in about 2 months) to arrive. When it gets here I will have plenty to do--- re-adding email accounts and re-setting the phone to just the way I like it.

My dad has a Razr and I have several friends who own them as well and none of them have had any problems. My pops did have slight data instability, but this was brief. AMA, I can't say what is happening with the phones you are getting, but, as bittersweet as it is, the Razrs are more inclined to work nearly perfectly than to not work at all and, from what I have read, they are some of the highest rated smartphones on the markets (with that said, I currently have the Rezound).

My wifes droid does not work. It contantly drops connection 4g 3g wifi it does not seem to matter. Swithing from one mode to another will connect you temporarily. but it loses connection again. To those who say its a service not a phone issue you are just wrong my statosphere remains connected right beside hers and we have excellent service in the Jax Fl area. we are not on the fringes of service We have been with Verizon since they bought out Primeco and have never had a problem with service until now. On our home wi-fi network our pc laptop my statosphere and the wii all have excellent connection but the droid constantly drops connection. motorola and Vrrizon should ackknowledge and fix the problem!
