You may want to try a system cache clear first (it's less painful and sometimes is all you need).

If that Does Not Help you May Have to Do a Factory Reset there are instructions on the Forum just do a Search of Factory Reset Razr / Razr Maxx and as Search is your Friend it will Pop up the Instructions) I will suggest this if this is your only alternative to correct an issue and your uneasy doing a F.R. Contact Customer Service 1-800-922-0204 Option 3 Which is Tech and they can Assist you threw the Factory Reset) you will have to Re-Inter your Google account and reload the Apps you had but if you have your Phone book set up with your Google Account it Will load it with in Seconds of entering the Account but as Tiki Pointed out the System Cache might be all you need to Do) Good Luck b33

Try this:
Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery *
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select
* if doesn't work:
press and hold the volume down and wait for a second or two, then press and hold the volume up and the volume down buttons for 5-6 seconds and then release

fullhouse451, let's smash the gas peddle and speed it up! Your device may be cluttered with alot of information and 3rd party software issues. I recommend that you uninstall any unwanted applications in Settings, delete text messaging conversations, call logs, and e-mails. Once you've removed unwanted information from your phone, power it off/on to soft reset it. I trust that these steps will improve the performance of your device.

Hi
Its my first post regarding my slow responding Razr Maxx, I did follow your detail instruction and cleared my cache, thanks to your instructions.
My phone is much better now, but still a bit slow, is there any other suggestions?
I would like to delete as well old emails from some of my 4 Gmail accounts, in one account it says I have over 999+ email, does that take off space from phone or it sits on Gmail server and only brings in headers until requesting more info?

I am one my 4th Droid Razr Maxx..They all do the same thing
- apps lock up - I have less than 10 3rd party apps
- all the google added apps are killing these phones.
- phone just go black for 2-3min at a time.
- i have to delete all my text constantly as this seems to help
- i must use an app killer to keep the phone somewhat useful
- constant app lock ups all..
- 5-30 sec wait for the a number to dial after pressing the send button..lol
And yes I have cleared the cache, reset the phone....blah blah blah
I am wondering, ever since 4.1.2 the phone is a paper weight. They send me the same phone with a processor that cannot handle the increase in the usage. The phone is great battery ect..but not much good when it does not respond.

That's unusual performance from the advanced and reliable Razr Maxx selracer, especially after three replacements! Sounds like there may be a pattern developing here. I recommend testing the device in safe mode for a full day to rule out third party app conflict. Please let us know how the device responds. A hard reset would be the next step after that. If the device still doesn't respond a replacement would be the same make and model.

Hi ellisaustin,
Let's get your phone working like a well oiled machine once again! How long has this been happening? Did you notice this start after installing an application or an update? Have you gone as far as completing a factory reset as previously suggested in the thread? I am eager to continue troubleshooting to work towards a solution.
Thank you,
