I set up gmail when I started using my Droid phone. I had problems with my last phone and was given the Droid Razr. Whenever I receive an email, I get the notification twice. It appears in two places on my phone. One is under the g for my gmail account. The other is in what looks like a stamp with @ in the middle of it. How do I get rid of one of these without losing my account?
I tried following the directions on My Verizon, but the only option I get when I press the menu key is "sync now".

The one with the @ in the Middle of what looks like a Stamp is your Email.. Yahoo, MSN, AOL etc. in stead of there Notification Symbol that was in Gingerbread Goggle opted for this instead..

Sounds like your issue you setup the account in two separate apps... Remove the account from the email application because the gMail application is a separate application and you do not need to applications monitoring the same account.
