I was all excited to have one of the newest phones. So skinny ans nice looking. I am dissapointed at the battery I am getting. I have smart actions on to save battery and I can get around 4 to 5 hrs of battery life. I started to dig around. I have the lapdock and it seems that the EVBRIDGEservice is using up at least 35% of my battery.. i quickly killed them with the advanced task killer (and people say we are not supposed to have it huh) and I will report battery life after that.
Any suggestions on a portable charger that DOES actually work? I saw verizon sells one but I dont know.. I used to have a duracell that would charge my droid x half ways. On my bionic I had a spare battery and life was great! But I wanted to have a new phone. I bought the phone from someone who bought a razor maxx so I do not have warranty and cant call verizon to replace. Im sure phone is not defective.
So in summary.
Anyone else having that process eat up battery? What external charger that charges your phone to 100% do you use?
I am a HEAVY user.
Wifi off, brigtness dimm. 4g area.

I have been seeing the same issue lately as well. My phone gets really warm and drains quickly, I open up the battery info app and see evbridge up at the top of the list.
I have the HD dock and the car dock as well. I usually use the Webtop mode in the HD dock.

This is getting annoying... updates are SUPPOSED to improve the phone!

I've had the Max for two weeks now and the battery life has been amazing until today - I didn't use the phone and by noon it was dead. EVBRIDGE was the biggest consumer of battery life. Anyone know where it came from. the Verizon guys had no idea??? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

No lapdock. I do use the HD dock and car dock that cane in the bundle pack.
All has been working flawlessly until yesterday. Used Astro and found
several instances of evbridge. No way to turn it off specifically, and it
still seems to be the biggest consumer of battery?

I just got my HD dock in a couple days ago and am experiencing this same problem. I have a RAZR maxx and my phone was down to 30% in just 10 hours when it is usually at 70 or 80%. I also noticed my phone getting hot today in my pocket, usually an indicator that the phone isn't sleeping...but I checked my battery usage and while the phone is in fact sleeping some how evbridge has used 3 hours of cpu time and 35% of my battery. This is extremely annoying. I'm hoping a reboot will fix this but I'm guessing I'm going to have to do a hard reset.

I found that the temporary fix for this is power cycle your phone. It kills EVbridge. Also a side note. WIFI uses less power than wifi. If you hav wifi use wifi instead.

Yeah I power cycled mine that night and haven't had it come back yet. Maybe a one time thing? I still use my dock every night.

I double checked just to be sure, and I had the same problem after docking my phone. I had to power cycle again to clear it. This means that it isn't a one-time thing.
For the record, I use the car dock all the time and have never had this issue, it's only the HD Dock (and apparently the lapdock if you have one) that cause the problem.

Maybe it's something to do with the HDMI out then? I've been using my dock for the bedside feature and it only has the power plugged into it and I've had no problem with that. It would make sense if it also happens with the lapdock but not the car dock.
My initial experience with this bug was immediately after trying out my HD dock with my TV.

I am having the same issue related to the HD Dock. I just got the dock last Friday and now my battery is being consumed rapidly by "evbridge" and "Motorola Services". It dropped from 100% to 70% in two hours without me even using the phone!

For a charger...I went on eBay and got one of the Verizon chargers with the long cord(9 feet I think) and the 'green' feature that reduces the power when the phone is fully charged. It sells in the store for $29.99. I got it brand new in the box on ebay for $15. I have not had a problem with it and it does charge my phone to 100%.

I am new to the smartphone arena and will be getting a Razr Maxx in two weeks. Can someone tell me what this EVBRIDGE is and does this mean that it is not possible to have a lapdock or any kind of docking station for a charger? Thank you so much for the assistance as I try to sort through all of this to select the right phone for me!

Hello,
I've been investigated on this issue before. A temp fix is found that can be done as a user but the down side is that the timezone may be incorrect. A better runtime fix, which requires ROOT, is also found but that needs more testing to add upon the Nebtop app.
See the "No track pad and evbridge is using 99% CPU" section from here:
