I know it's only supposed to be done when absolutely necessary, but my phone was so bogged down, I did a hard reset this morning. First I made sure I backed up all contacts to Backup Assistant and downloaded all photos. After reset, all contacts weren't synced...went to my account on Verizon and all contacts were synced but a lot of contacts were missing including my husband and son. Also when pressing down on home screen, all that comes up is wallpaper options...no widget???
Really want my phone back to the way it was...any suggestions?
Thanks!

The first suggestion I have is to NOT use Backup Assistant and backup all of your contacts as Google contacts. This is typical of Backup Assistant. As far as Widgets. go to the App drawer and go all the way to the end 9last page) it will turn from APPS to Widgets and you can long press to save the Widget to your home screen. You can try another Hard Reset to see if it brings the home screen functionality back as that is supposed to restore ALL original functions.
In the future before jumping to a FDR, I would use a cache wipe which will not lose any of your data. Only fragmented code.
So I would get all of your contacts back on the phone. Save them all as Google contacts, then export your phones contacts to a csv file (very easy to do from the phone). Save the contacts on your SD card.
I have never lost or had a contact changed using Google to save my contacts. Backup Assistant on the other hand, has never backed up more then 60% of my contacts and then when restoring them has never restored more then 75% of what it saved.
