I have a big problem, I bought an xt910 on Ebay.com and I live in Brazil, but the the sellersent me a xt912 and by what I read Verizon own the rights to the product xt912 ...

I have a very important question, and I would love if someone could help me. So here we go: It's possible to unlock the xt912 to operate in GSM mode? How could I do this?

Thank you and sorry for my english.

The phone doesn't have a GSM radio so it won't work on GSM.

I would contact the eBay seller and return it.  They should be good about standing behind it if it was not as advertised.   Otherwise you can file a complaint with eBay or PayPal if you paid with them. But probably they would just give you a refund.  Sorry.

I don't have any experience with that.  I think it might work - but honestly I don't know.  Maybe someone else can speak to that.

Why would you do that though? You might as well have an iPod touch then, which would be less expensive. If the seller sent you the wrong one, why not contact them and see if they can send you the correct one or refund your money?

I paid expensive import taxes.

And I have to pay to send the phone ...

= /

I spent 486 usd (phone + shipping)

430 usd rates (taxes)

Send back 80 usd

I have the risk that the seller does not want to receive the product. If it does not receive, I do not get my money back.

Ahh, that makes sense then.  I'm so sorry you didn't get the right phone.  x

If the seller has a high number of sales and good ratings, they may stand behind it and even pay shipping since it was their error.  Or eBay might force them too.  I suppose you could list it yourself and sell it. Kind of a hassle and expense though.

I think the phone will work on wifi without a SIM card of any sort if this thread I found is correct.

Good luck!

Thank you! Now I can use "all" phone, just can not make calls!

Only I have a problem with the Wii Fii: always connecting and disconnecting.

If you are connected to your wifi and then being disconnected, it might be that you have a problem with that router.  I've most often seen this when the router is a few years old.   Try connecting to a public or newer wifi network and see if you have the problem.

Glad it's solved.

I had no problem with your English, by the way.  I wish I could speak Portuguese so well! Smiley Happy
