How do I get simultaneous voice and data?

My turbo updated to Advanced Calling a couple weeks ago but I still don't have simultaneous voice and data. I have checked to make sure it's on but anytime I'm on a call my 4g icon goes out and it shows 1x. It literally turns data off during calls. I thought the advanced calling was supposed to fix that?

There's more to it than software. The towers themselves need to have the update themselves.

I got it working...in case anyone else continues to have the problem:

1) turn off advanced calling in settings

2) reboot the phone

3) turn advanced calling back on after reboot

Fixed it for me. I'm quite happy to have it working. Thanks.
